The title speaks for itself. Really dropped the ball here GOG.
high rated
Since the game is free, just go and download it from - http://www.bay12games.com/dwarves/

If you arethinking about the Steam version of the game, it is not even availiable there yet

If you want the DRM free vrsion, you can nabb it from Itch - https://kitfoxgames.itch.io/dwarf-fortress

What about other storefronts?
We’re focused on Steam and itch.io for now.
Maybe next year.

Looks like the same old story. At least they're including a DRM-free platform in their initial two options.

If Return to Monkey Island had been on itch.io at launch I would have bought it in a heartbeat. My loyalty is to DRM-free releases, not a particular store. Same goes for Dwarf Fortress - I'm not particularly broken up that it's not here considering it'll be on itch.io.
Stretching the notion of 'Massive Fail' aren't we. I'd never even heard of it until now, and there are many more far better known games that aren't yet here on GOG and many that never will be.

How do you define 'Massive Fail'?

How is it GOG's fault? The game has over 2100 votes, I'm sure GOG would love to have it here.

Wishlist entry: https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/dwarf_fortress

I think it'll show up next year, and hopefully we'll get a nice discount at launch.

How? Was Dwarf Fortress a commercial game released in the last 6 months or something?

I assume the 'its not here and i want it to be' logic.

Though it could also be a bot trying to drive up replies.

Can you get a deeper discount than 'free'?

It certainly does seem like there a number or valid options for drm free versions, it does make you wonder, though, why it wouldn't be here in that case.

You know, it needs two to tango...has anybody asked the devs whether they want a GOG release?

All they had apparently to say, was this (from the link further above):

"Why Steam/itch? Health difficulties, uncertain structure of Patreon."

"What about other storefronts? We’re focused on Steam and itch.io for now."

Yes, today in fact.

Wow... i heard about Dwarf Fortress years ago, didn't know they made a commercial release. I don't keep up with latest games like i used to 8 years ago.

Now my replies just feel silly...

Fanboy denial. Look this game would of been a perfect fit for GOG and they went else were for a DRM free option, speaks volumes. I'd prefer to buy my games on GOG but they are dropping the ball so many times.

It's not always GOG fault as why games do not come here. I have seen developers not wanting to release on other stores just because they feel steam is enough or its too much work for them to make store page for other stores. No joking

Edit: I'm pretty sure rtcvb32 is far from a fanboy. haha

One guy from a Discord server I'm on had this to say about it:

"10/10 will not buy"

"This guy made an incredible game but is woke af and banned ppl from its forums because they were speaking about asexuals animals or even banned ppl who were speaking about his censorships"

So whose word are you going to take, some numpty on Discord, or the word of Zach & Tarn Adams who have been incredibly open about the entire development process, the future of development, features, and more?
