I don't recall ever seeing a staff member create a question/problem thread. (Maybe in some game forum I've never visited?)
Any staff account, however, can mark any post in a topic as the solution, even one by the thread starter. I think there have also been instances of staff marking a solution in a thread that was not even created as a question topic.

Whoa, this thread got a lot of responses, I didn't expect it to do so :)

However, yes, I would like to address the point that most OPs don't give higher detail in their answer, I see that as separate issue, some like me give all the detail and it would be not fair to have the thread still marked as "unsolved".

The ideal solution would be to as someone has suggested, give little or no reputation for answering our own question, but it is not likely that GoG will change that now unless they plan to revamp the forum as pointed out by another member.
