I got quite a lot of new mails from various websites.
All of them introduced the new privacy policy, follow the standard of GDPR.

Maybe I missed it, but I do not remember I got similar mails from GOG recently.

GOG sent their email around the time they introduced profiles.

They updated their privacy policy on April 25th and I got an e-mail around that time.

i recently enabled basic tracking prevention in firefox's settings. i was surprised to see gog.com is being blocked. while i can't find the specific items blocked via firefox, it is interesting that a website like gog has some tracking in place. i'm guessing it has something to do with social media but i'm just guessing.

It's not surprising at all actually, most commercial site uses some sort of analytic tracking to know where their traffic comes from, how peoples navigate their site, etc...

They used to have Google Analytics in there but I don;t see it right off.

At least for this page.

edit: Appears to only be present when visitors are not logged in.

Just to mention, I posted one of the better one's I received in the main Profiles thread. The company went in and opt'ed everyone out of everything and told us we had to re opt in.

been buggin' teh crap out of me with all these emails 'n' messages etc
I've got a few clients ranting as well.

98-ish% of our own clients are US and Canadian based. We did a "Make sure this is in your website's privacy policy" posting, answered maybe a dozen questions about the actual process, four or five dozen on why it was important, a few "f the government" ones and moved on.
