babark: So, I'm figuring I'd get all the Interplay games I'd want.
So, as a classic adventure gamer, which Star Trek game? 25th Anniversary (I think is the more famous one), or Judgement Rites?
I mean, I know I could just get both, but if one is better, why?
...together, (though you could do with watching the Animated Series, too) they kinda complete the five year mission.

krakataul: Also, tomorrow is N7 day, sooo... ;)

IronArcturus: Wow, wouldn't that be nice if we could see the Mass Effect series?
EA just released three games here a couple weeks ago. They (and GOG) tend to like to have a bit more time between batches (and I don't imagine they'd want focus pulled away by doing it during a major sale, either).
Check out the " popular " tab . It's currently russian / english .
Been disappointed with the lack of new releases thus far this sale - in the last big one (which had the XP... whenever that was) I swear there seemed to be 1-2 new releases every day of the sale - or at least the majority of the days...

mobutu: were those 300xp from yesterday's twitch awarded yet? Cause I don't think I've got it.
Me neither. Looks like we have to be patient for those bonus XPs.

zeffyr: To buy or not to buy The Witness? That is the question.
I usually don't spend more than about $20 per game, but I bought The Witness like six months ago at ~$40 and I don't regret it one bit. It's my favourite game I played this year, and I still think about it from time to time after finishing it. What about it interests you? If it's being left to your own devices to explore an area, think about things, and solve the puzzles you find, then this game has that. I know some people didn't like the lack of direction and the fact that the game merely presents itself to you and doesn't lead or cater to the player, but personally, I love that.

General advice about The Witness: don't look anything up, before or during play. This game is about discovery and learning and meant to be a personal experience. It's really easy to sully that by being exposed to others' experience.

Thanks for the answer! :-)

I've watched some gameplay on Twitch after The Witness was released and I read some reviews, so I know what to expect from the game - puzzles and not much of a story. That's OK, as long as the game provides fun.

I don't remember any fabular twists from these gameplays, only the sort of the puzzles, so I believe all the game is yet to be discovered by me.

I do worry though about the level of difficulty. From what I heard, there are no guidelines or hints and there are hundreds of little puzzles - what if I stuck on one? Has it happened to you during your playthrough?

I know the game wasn't ever cheaper than it is now, on this sale. And that's very tempting. Yet the price is a little bit steep, so I'm hesitating... :-)

Djaron: Question: this time, do the codes i got by email have an expiration date ? I ask because i couldnt see any mention of that in the emails i got, while it was clearly stated in the previous unlockables that had expiration dates in previous sales...

Grargar: From the FAQ:

HOW MUCH TIME DO I HAVE TO REDEEM MY FREE GAME?
The free game codes will expire on December 13, 9:59 AM UTC.
sorry then, i'm just blind :( (too little sleep those past days)... A whole month to rally up my friends to check if they are interested...

Thanks for poiting it out to me

The game does teach you how everything works, but not explicitly, so generally, you should be able to solve every/most puzzles in the game just from what's in the game itself. If you come across something you can't solve or don't understand, you could always just leave it and go elsewhere, maybe come back later. That's usually the best option. There are hundreds of puzzles and you don't need to solve them all to finish the game.

There were two puzzles that I had trouble with. One of them, I thought about it overnight, and did the whole rubber ducky troubleshooting thing, and while trying random things to explain to myself what I know, I accidentally solved it. That was actually funny. I knew what needed to be done, but just didn't see the combination until I accidentally put it in.

The other one, I didn't solve on my own completely. I finished the game, but left that one alone. I looked up some hints and then went back to solve it.
The Daily Check button has malfunctioned.

I personally have only been able to press the check button twice and now it keeps saying I have already checked, even if I have not, and shows a countdown for when I can next check. But this countdown just goes to 0 and then restarts without resetting the check button.

In effect I have only been able to check twice in the first day or two, and now I am unable to check a further five times.
Prediction :

Upcoming bundles

- Daedalic bundle
- Bullfrog bundle
- King's Quest + Space Quest bundle
- Bethesda RPG bundle ( Oblivion ? )
- Quake + Doom bundle ( Doom 3 + expansion ? )
- Fallout bundle ( New Vegas + Fallout 3 ? )
- EA bundle ( with one or two new releases )
- Train bundle
- TimeShift + Gun + Singularity
- Warhammer bundle
- City builder bundle

I think I'd lose my mind if Oblivion, Fallout: NV, and Fallout 3 all turned up in this sale.
