It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

i didn't do extensive testing, but at 800x600 [the resolution i'm in] i don't get news and i don't get new releases [basically, everything that's on a slider] - i strongly suspect that this is because of the way the pictures are sized. but...it's more than a little frustrating to have to go into a different resolution just to see things like the weekly sale.

here's output:

800x600:

That's... a bit low. I wouldn't even think of using anything below 1024x768 in our day and age.

Have you tried zooming out though? It may turn certain text unreadable, but it should sort the layout problems you're having. On Firefox that's CTRL + Mouse Wheel Down.

with my issues, 800x600 is readable.

anything else gets too small. [and believe you me, i've messed around with dpi and all that nonsense. :)]

i haven't yet tried that - i just wanted to get a sense for where the break was. but that's a thing i'm going to try next.

Or CTRL + - (hyphen) if you lack a mouse wheel.
I think it was a 4x3 resolution problem. On 1024x768 the page also busted. The programmer forget that old games works best at 4x3 an those monitors still used by some.

Addition: also a 4x3 problems, on the game page the "Buy Series" also busted. While the recommended game works fine. It is very annoying.

I'm going to join the pile of, "Questioning why you're using such a low resolution in the first place."

i have eye issues.

moving upward [resolution wise] makes text too small.

dpi fixes are still not in a great place where they render text [and everything else] legible. supposedly, the next windows update only makes TEXT bigger and that might help. we'll see.

good catch.

you're probably right.

I'm pretty sure you can already adjust text separate from elements already.

i'd have to look.

the last time i did, dpi was just a setting that changed everything. [that was about a week or so ago, now.]
minor update:

ok, so, in testing, when i use firefox's zoom mode, i can see items when i get to about 70%. which at least means i don't have to flip resolutions.

for folks in my boat:

use your browser's zoom controls to get to a point where you can see the items. [zoom controls are usually bound to control + and control -]. then just click on the item you're interested in. once the news page has rendered [or whichever page you were interested in has come up] feel free to reset the zoom after that [i haven't tested more extensively than on the main site.] reset is usually control 0.

this may differ from browser to browser and you may have to experiment with the zoom settings, but hopefully this helps others.

man. i'm sorry you got downvoted so much, here.

it's a legitimate question. not everyone's in my boat. [plus, we don't really /talk/ about folks with impaired vision a lot, so this sort of issue isn't part of widespread discourse.] :(

Not your fault, I've been rather sassy on the forums lately, doing unspeakable things like defending GOG's redesign and curation. As for the scale options, I do recall it being true that it scales everything, which basically means it only looks good at certain resolutions which means you'd have to switch to it first, and then check how the scaling feels which can be a process and not good for the video systems.
Yeah, I use the zoom functions of FF quite a bit for my res (1366x768). Very handy feature, but I rarely change it once set for a particular site. I don't have a great deal of vision problems, but my astigmatism can be a pain from time to time.

Off topic, but if possible you could look into getting a bigger screen. Full HD on a big screen should be a lot easier on the eyes than the same resolution on, in example, a small tablet screen. Also, maybe there are browser plug-ins which could help with your problems?

Somehow I think the upgrade will involve more than just a bigger screen mate. But that's an assumption like all others. And we all know what assumptions are....
