HunchBluntley: If you really want to get rid of that name, just go here, select "account username (nickname) change" from the "Problem type" dropdown, fill out the rest of the form, and submit.
(If you first want to check and see if your idea(s) for alternatives names are already taken, you can go here, click "+ Invite new friend", and search for whatever; don't worry, it won't actually send anyone a friend invite unless you click "Invite" after a username comes up.)
What I was going to suggest :) Alternatively, you can also log out and attempt to create a new GOG account - if the chosen username is not available, you know that it's already taken.

I think a lot of people play Mahjong Soul for riichi mahjong, although I've heard the gacha rates are extremely bad if you're trying to get specific characters (and it's from a Chinese developer, since some people are paranoid about that). I don't play it myself.

for solitaire, IDK.

Tenhou is good for リーチ麻雀. Not sure why the app rating is so low but it's good.

Obviously you don't get access to the higher levels until you've built up a rating so the first dozen games you might get people disconnecting but once you get access to the higher levels then you get good games with Japanese rules (although check the rules for subtleties)
