mrkgnao: This morning my VPS service provider has upgraded its network, which should have translated to much faster performance. However, for reasons unknown, MaGog's update script (which harvests thousands of GOG pages and is therefore quite network-dependent) now runs about 3-4 times SLOWER (10-12 hours to complete, instead of 2.5-3 hours). This makes it impossible to run on a 6-hour cycle, as before. I have already aborted two cycles and have now disabled the 6-hour cron script.
I don't know the reason for this. I have contacted my VPS service provider but haven't heard from them yet.
Until I find a solution, I will run the MaGog update script manually once or twice a day, at irregular times. The next one should be finished in about 12 hours, fingers crossed.
I'll keep you updated (pun intended).
On a more serious note, have you noticed any differences (better or worse) with your other projects?
