It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

mrkgnao: No. There was never an option to search by ID via the GUI. I didn't think it useful. That's why I gave you that link.

I can add it if you wish, but wouldn't it be simpler to search by title, via title contains. And that one already supports bundled games (e.g. you can search for "Pool" (of Radiance) to find "Forgotten Realms Archives Collection Two").

Let me know.

adaliabooks: Odd, I know there was never an option for it, but searching for the ID in the title field did use to work... Maybe it only actually worked for the bundled IDs (as they are contained in the bundle string usually)
Don't worry about adding it on my account, I just wasn't sure why it didn't seem to work now.
You're right. You can use the "title > contains" filter to search for bundled sub-game IDs (just checked and it indeed works), because it is part of the bundle string, which is searched for bundle sub-game titles. It is an unintended side-effect and only works for bundled sub-game IDs, not for any other ID. Never thought about it.

If you change your mind, let me know.

I thought it had worked for the normal ids, but thinking about it when I was using it was to fix broken or missing legacy covers and most of those were bundled games so that was probably all I was searching. I probably just assumed it worked for the others too..

Thanks, but between the two I should be able to search for all the IDs so there's no need to go to the trouble on my part.

Somehow I knew you were going to do that :P

Thanks mrkgnao :)

mrkgnao: BTW, why do HTTP and HTTPS have separate cookies?
avatar
Johny.: I don't know why - but that is how it works in general. :P localStorage is also not shared between http and https (on browser side).
Although I'm not 50% competent on that topic I guess it's because of security reasons. Someone could take your session cookie with man-in-the-middle attack getting you to http site and he would read the cookie. Evil thing to do.
I'm not a web developer but as far as I understand it a web browser sends every cookie it has with every request to the server unless the cookie is restricted or protected. When you have a mixed HTTP/HTTPS environment even cookies which originally have been created from a HTTPS connection (like a session cookie) will be sent (unencrypted) with HTTP requests when they are not protected. So someone who can snoop your traffic (e.g. when you are on an unencrypted WLAN) can easily record your session cookie and hijack your session.

GOG is not running a mixed HTTP/HTTPS system anymore so it's not possible to check if their cookies have been protected before. At the moment their cookies (including the session cookie) are not limited to HTTPS connections. But as far as I understand it restricting the connection type is not needed anymore for pure HTTPS systems.

Edit:
Thankfully they left a HTTP link to test. The promo link on the front page is still HTTP. And the session cookie is being sent with that request, unprotected in clear text:

gog_lc=XXX; cart_token=XXX; gog_us=XXX; gog-al=XXX; uqid=XXX; sessions_gog_com=XXX; Origin=XX; gtw3lc=XXX

Bad GOG!

Edit 2:
The problem is fixed for fresh logins, only logins before the roll-out of the HTTPS everywhere are affected. So if you still have such a long-term session open, better log out and log in again.

apehater: did you create a wishlist extension for removed games too?
No. That would require an entirely different mechanism, since you cannot add removed games to gog mixes either. Probably will have to get the information from properly formatted forum posts in a dedicated thread.

However, given that the existing wishlist extension scheme is not really a glowing success story (two people use it), I don't feel as yet inclined to add this new mechanism, unless I get a clear indication that a significant number of people plan to use it.

Thank you.

Could you please check the following links (while logged in) and tell me what you see. If it's some text beginning with {"title":"Something Something Something", please copy paste the "Something Something Something" here. If it's empty or inaccessible (often redirecting you to the home page), please let me know:

Just came up with "[]," so I'm assuming it's empty, as far as you're concerned.

Redirects to the front page.

Hope that helps!

ETA: Is part of it something odd due to the not-yet-released-but-released-to-those-who-bought-it-on-sale status of the "New on GOG" games, perhaps? I just realized the first one was Jotun, which I can download but which isn't actually released yet.

penumbren:
The first one is indeed Jotun, which apparently has two IDs because of its special status.
The second one is an obsolete entry, which you can ignore and I will instruct MaGog to do the same.
The third one is J.U.L.I.A Among The Stars, which is on your wishlist (though you probably cannot see it), and which apparently also has two IDs.

I'll update MaGog with all this info tomorrow. Cheers.
