MaGog has practically no concept of relations between items.

I have been thinking recently about adding the concepts of a "pack" (a single game composed of more than one entry, e.g. base game + DLC 1 + DLC 2 + deluxe edition) and a "series" (multiple games/packs belonging to the same series, e.g. Witcher), but the problem is that the relationship information needs to be managed manually every time GOG adds a game (or changes a game ID) and that's a pain, as I don't see how this can be fully and consistently retrieved from GOG's website.

adaliabooks: Not sure whether it helps at all, but if you go into the console on a games page and run:

gogData.gameProductSeriesData

It gives you the list of games that come up under the "BUY SERIES – COMPLETE IT" header...

But I presume the problem may be more to do with retrieving that data without having to visit each individual game's page (I assume you get most of your data through GoG's own Ajax methods and URLs)

The series data does seem to be attached to the product data as well, so it could potentially be pulled from anywhere a game is listed (for example the account page or the /games page) with just a little more work if that would be better...

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to differentiate between other games in the series and DLC.. though it's probably possible to do that on your end? (You could presumably filter results by DLC that is a part of a series to retrieve a game's DLC, though it might return any DLC for any game in said series that way)

Let me know if that is any help and I'll poke about further...

It's that GOG's data is nowhere near satisfactory. For example, "WITCHER 3: WILD HUNT, THE - GAME + EXPANSION PASS" doesn't seem to belong to any series according to its game page. And there are many other examples.

What I need is someone to compile and maintain the data religiously.

BTW, I may have misunderstood how to run your suggestion, but I get "undefined".

No, I imagine you're doing it right and GoG just sucks... No idea why that particular version of the game and expansions is not included as part of the series...

Most of the data could probably be compiled automatically, but there will be exceptions (like the one you've mentioned) that would need to be updated by hand...

I'll have a further poke about and see if there is any link between that version of the game and the rest of them...

Edit: A further poking about suggests that said Series information is passed through from Server side not client side so the game pages are the only places it exists, and it's obviously not 100% reliable...
I can't see anything that links the Wild Hunt + Expansion Pass version of the Witcher 3 to the rest of the series, or any reason why it wouldn't be included (I know other series that include the base edition, upgrade and combined base edition and upgrade under the Series heading so it's not like they're trying to stop people accidentally duplicating purchases...)

For some reason, since this morning GOG is preventing MaGog from collecting bundle discount information (using Grimwerk's Method™). It might be some server load alleviation measure, or it might be something else.

Anyhow, this means that the bundle discount percentages presented on MaGog are currently incorrect (they reflect yesterday's state, not today's). All other metrics (e.g. prices, regular discounts, etc.) should be ok.

I'll continue investigating it, but for now it's mostly a waiting game.
Well, the problem, which had been a GOG Internal Server Error (500) appears to have resolved itself for now through no action of mine. Here's to it not returning again...

For what it's worth, the bundle discount information is now up to date on MaGog. Better late than later.

As Gydion pointed out, it's information that MaGog collects from user-created GOG mixes and displays in its own row.
Here is the current information available from all 7 GOG mixes being tracked:

Current Metroidvania category only includes Aquaria and Odallus. But there are more Metroidvania games on GOG library (e.g. La-Mulana). Is MaGog able to find them? Or other solutions to find all of them?

MaGog rarely creates its own information, it just displays information created by others, usually GOG.

Genre information is obtained from GOG. Therefore, to have better genre information, you should contact GOG and ask them to improve their genres.

Specifically metroidvania is a tricky category because there is little agreement about which games fit this glove, except for Metroid and Castlevania.

Meanwhile, three options:
1) Refer to this post, written by one of my favourite goglodytes: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/dae_want_a_horror_genre_selection/post10
2) Use the platformer genre; it's probably the closest
3) Research all the games on GOG and prepare your own list

ANNOUNCEMENT:
Version 6.6.0 has been released with the following features:

* Added a "Series" button to the game display (below the "Forum" button), which yields (in a new window or tab) all the games belonging to the same series as that game (if indeed it is part of a series)
* Added a "Series" filter which allows one to find all the games belonging to a given series
* Improved sorting by title (which is the default) to be more series aware, so that adjacent titles belonging to the same series are generally sorted by series order (see, for example, the Braveland or Anomaly series)
* Added Thai to the list of searchable languages
* Corrected the "Price" column header to read either "Full Regional Prices" or "Current Regional Prices", based on the user-selected option

Sort of. I created a text file where I list all the series and all the games in each series and I maintain it manually, updating it with each game release. The last word in low-tech.
