He's talking about game 34 (my first game) and this is my 4th game so I am relatively new to this. Things were a bit hectic irl (presentations, quizzes, etc.) so my participation was pretty limited on day 1.

I had him as absolutely solid town lock, based on strong scumhunting, and scum presumably being able to do better than going after me. However, there's a few loose ends / things which don't quite add up (the above is one), which could be indeed be confirmation bias (have to look up who accused him of that), or scummy, so now he's just "probable town".

I have a minor theory which could make him scum, based on me relatively early on pushing Hunter. If Hunter/Brasas are scumbuddies, then Brasas might've decided to make use of his towny behaviour on pushing me to double down and thus take the heat off Hunter.
I think that's too shiny to really believe in, though.

Could you reiterate please what about Trent was pinging you?

Were you scum in any of those other three games? (Or as Brasas would say, is this your first time?)


Additional post (thank you bler) to add: My theory about Brasas/Hunter is mostly minor because I don't think my push was anything other than the very lightest, so there wasn't really much of any heat to "take off".

Then again, what speaks in its favour is the way Brasas seems to be able to get into the "new scum" mindset so well. Maybe he has a working example right there with him.

@drealmer: yes, the lovers game was non-standard. But still you were scum, I suspected you early but you wiggled out of it by arguing: "Yea, but that's totally what I would say a town too, because..." and I believed you. And town lost. You are skillful at playing with WIFOM and I think the way you play now would be exactly the way you would play as scum. Yes, maybe you are town and are just more aggressive than usual for some RL reason. But maybe you are scum and you actually used your 'no lynch' vote as bait - as bait for some townie who reacts to it so you can jump on him. Both options are possible and with the way you argued I still think the scum-drealmer option is more likely. Plus there is just a lack of alternatives. Day 1 problem: there are no good targets, so one picks the least bad one. Because no-lynch is out of the question!

But one more question: what do you mean by 'scum sits on the wagon' ... sure, me. But the other people on your wagon are not among your top picks and your other top picks aside from me are not on your wagon.


@JMich: I know this is Day 1 and you're still in hibernation. But I really would like to know your opinion on the wagon(s) before the deadline strikes. You haven't shared any suspicion on any player yet and you're the only one not voting yet. Please change that!

Usual day 1 drivel. A player tries to provoke reactions, then claims it was not a scummy move but a reaction provoking one, some people go after that, the usual "No roles discussion/speculation please" and the hurried votes because "We need to lynch someone".

Fine. The drealmer wagon is not one I'd join at this point, since I don't see anything too damning about drealmer. I don't see anything else as a viable lynch candidate, but since you want me to vote, vote JMich. Feel free to hop on a mislynch wagon, but do explain why you think I'm a good lynch choice.

I stumbled over this too, at first. We're guaranteed 7 by the Matrix 6 setup rules. The 8th, while very likely town, is not guaranteed to be town. Maybe it is a jester or something else not-a-survivor-or-mafia. SK would probably disrupt the balance far too much to be included.

Is it odd that you didn't include the person you are voting in that list? Seems odd to me.

You've already pegged Lift as scum and Trent as town. Out of curiosity, is the second scum me or Darko?

If you are referring to when I pulled the quote from the QT, then more or less yes. It is back to "reasonable, unverifiable explanation" since I'm not going to try and read through his past games. If you are referring to something else, then please clarify.

My "7-town knowledge" is common knowledge shared by all: 7 town is guaranteed by the setup - but no more. You will notice I didn't say "only" 7 town though. Although IMO #10 is likely a neutral of some type - what easier way to keep balance?

At work so can't really do shit at the moment but I don't understand the progression of this vote at all; someone tells you to vote and you think the best vote of the day is to vote yourself? If you think that Day 1 is useless, why not just vote drealmer? What does it matter? What changes Day 2?

Would wondering out loud about setup while advising against talking about setup be a more fair description? It wasn't a good look. I don't care about an RVS no-lynch vote or that you may want to talk about setup. I really don't.
But if I start posting about Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, I expect people will comment on my post about Peanut Butter Cups and on the Peanut Butter Cups themselves regardless of me claiming that I don't want people to comment on Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. It will just happen. I hope that makes sense.

Yeap, I've been fully convinced by all your reasons for voting me.

Should I now vote for Drealmer, it puts him at L-1. And I don't have a good enough reason to put him at L-1. And if I was voting him just to put him at L-1, then the whole point of wagon analysis would be lost.

Why ain't you voting for Drealmer if you think he's such a better choice over me for a lynch? And do recall that I don't think he's a good choice.

I was about to be very confused, and ask if you were watching the thread at all since Darko did vote Drealmer.

Could someone who strongly believes in a Drealmer lynch give some inkling on what they think a town flip would tell us? And/or do a summary on what all is scummy about him? (I recall the "it was a trap!" no-lynch comment, the back-and-forth with trent, and some stuff with Lift - but far too much of it seems to be based on shared history...) And same question for Nacho if there's anything significant other than the interaction with me and Brasas? I see them both as middle of the pack, and would not be entirely opposed to joining either one, but apparently the "we MUST lynch someone, otherwise we still don't know anything on D2!" attitude isn't as universally shared as I thought before, so if I'm joining either, I want to be at least somewhat convinced myself...

If I have timezones right, there's just over two hours left now, right? That's enough for me to do some solid reading, but pointers will definitely help.
