If I were GOG i'd be pissed at Rock, Paper, Shotgun for blabbing about the last of the current releases...

... also for using the annoyingly formatted "GoG".

Still waiting for LucasArts game SWOTL.......

tfishell: The original press release from GOG, back in October, said 30 titles. That was changed to 20+, but hopefully it will be closer to the full LucasArts catalog. :-P
Yeah I'd imagine revising it to "20+" makes it sound less finite than the first number.

dudalb: Prepare to be very Disappointed.....It's not a good game.
And the Controls alone will drive you crazy.
avatar
SuperLibby72: I played it and the controls were fine for me.
And they drove a lot of people crazy. They were not well designed. The Camera moves really suck and are hard to control.

:Force Commander is widley considered one Lucasarts fails: A great idea ruined through bad execution

Frankly, if you have Galactic Battles and Empires At War you can forget about Force Commander.
Hi Everyone !!

What's the main differences between Star Wars™ Galactic Battlegrounds and Star Wars™ Empire at War ?

Aside from graphics, they're really distinct from each other ?

What game is the better ? (I know this question is a matter of personal taste, but I'm asking anyways)

Thanks!

Henrique

Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds is a game made in the likes of Age of Empires 2. To be fair Battlegrounds I personally prefer to AoE2. The setting just suits me more. Battlegrounds includes maps on planets, orbital platforms and others. A lot of variety there. Star Wars Empire at War on the other hand is a game with a strategic map where you build buildings on planets and in orbit and you produce units with which you attack on the tactical map at planets or asteroids and a black hole :) Basically your mission is too conguer the enemy held planets. The game is mostly known for its tactical battles with Star Destroyers, Mon Calamari Cruisers and tons off different ships. You can also fight tactical battles on the planets you wan't to occupy. If you are sure you are going to win a battle you can also auto resolve it.

Basically Star War Empire at War is a mix of turn based and real time strategy. I highly recommend it.

Both games are good buy so maybe look at some youtube videos to be sure what you wan't :)

tfishell: maybe that means we'll get many more than just the original 20+ ! :) I mean, maybe not, but still...

mobutu: For sure, it means the first wave sold extremely good and this opened-up the disney-lucas vault ;)
I hope you are right. You must be right. The way of introducing LA games here is so odd...it's unlike GOG. Until now they rather published games in a steady flow and with LA: bang..Bang ..BANG!

From a gamers perspective Disney taking over Star Wars seems to have been a good decision :)
Grab Empire at War if you haven't played it. Tune up your systems, spam armies and fleets, auto-fight land battles, and gaze in awe at the awesomeness of the space battles... especially with mods. There's some mods out there that make the EAW space battles look AMAZING.
No Force Unleashed, boo. Well hopefully maybe in the future. I hope Disney sells more than the initial 30 games here.
