As the Wave II timer ticks down to a zero for the last time, one of the most exciting weeks in the history of GOG.com comes to a close. We couldn't be happier with the series of amazing titles we added to our catalog this week, and we're proud to have teamed up with ©Disney Interactive to finally restore six iconic Star Wars™ games back into the hands of gamers exclusively on GOG.com.

January 22:

January 20:
A long time ago in a galaxy near you, ©Disney Interactive and GOG.com teamed up to bring you the holy grail of classic gaming: six Lucasfilm cult-classics were added to our DRM-free catalog, including three titles which saw their digital premiere on GOG.com. We also made a promise to bring you many more cult-classics in the future and, believe us, we did not forget.

Today, with great pride and joy, we're excited to announce Wave II of Lucasfilm games on GOG.com! Starting right now, six new Star Wars™ classics are available in our DRM-free Lucasfilm/Disney catalog. This includes three amazing titles available, for the first time in digital distribution, exclusively on GOG.com:
Star Wars™: X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter - digital distribution debut, on GOG.com!
Star Wars™: X-Wing Alliance™ - digital distribution debut, on GOG.com!
Star Wars™ Galactic Battlegrounds Saga - digital distribution debut, on GOG.com!

We're also celebrating the DRM-free release of these Star Wars™ games with a 72-hour 20% launch discount:
Star Wars™ Battlefront™ II
Star Wars™: Dark Forces
Star Wars™ Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords™

Just in case you missed your chance last time, you can grab three more Lucasfilm classics for the same 20% discount, until Friday, January 30, at 1:59 PM GMT!
Star Wars™ Knights of the Old Republic™
Indiana Jones® and the Fate of Atlantis™
The Secret of Monkey Island™: Special Edition

Our Lucasfilm/Disney is made that much more impressive today thanks to our team-up with ©Disney Interactive. The 6 new Star Wars™ releases, which include 3 digital premieres exclusively on GOG.com, are barely the beginning. We're not saying more right now, but we know the wait will be worth it for six great reasons - keep watching the front page and stay tuned for more exciting Lucasfilm titles releasing on GOG.com when the timer strikes zero!

Ciris: To quote the game card's system requirements: "Minimum system requirements - Windows: Windows XP/Vista/7/8, 1.8 GHz Processor, 1 GB RAM, 3D graphics card compatible with DirectX 7 (compatible with DirectX 9 recommended), Mouse, Keyboard, Controller/Joystick"

So it seems like you've gotta have one - that, or a controller.

Malek86: Yeah, I know... but I'd still rather have confirmation, because I remember that my disc release would literally refuse to start unless you had a joystick connected. Seeing as the Windows version of Tie Fighter still has the joystick requirement, I don't know if GOG touched that or if they left it as is. Then again, maybe installing the expansion allowed you to play with the keyboard. I dunno, I never bought that one.

Also, the requirements for X-Wing Alliance say the same thing, but I distinctly remember that the game didn't require a joystick.

In other words, if someone can try, that would be the best :P
It requires a controller or joystick :)

Not here yet. :\
Incredible! Thank you GOG and Disney. I'm looking forward to seeing the next wave.

Nice 2nd wave! The Schwartz is with us after all. ;)
Excellent news!!! Thank you, GOG and Disney!

I'm going to buy two of them right away (Galactic Battlegrounds and Knights of the Old Republic II), the rest goes to the wishlist for now. I'm curious to see what we will get on thursday. My guess is that it will be some classic adventures.

Congratz!

Although I'm totally gutted at Star Wars universe... :P
Fingers crossed the next batch on Thursday contains Outlaws,Afterlife and the remaining point n' click games or maybe even both the Rebel Assault games and The Phantom Menace game.
By the way, the price of the first KotOR has dropped to $9.99 now. Same case with Secret of the Monkey Island.

Awesome! To bad I'm still broke, but I'll probably still pick up KoTOR II, just can't pass that one up.

Btw., do GOG employees have to refer to Star Wars as Star Wars™ from now on?

That's not what I meant. The Secret of Monkey Island and KotOR had a base price of $12.49. Now, their base price is $9.99.

JudasIscariot: It requires a controller or joystick :)
I see. Well... I guess I was hoping for too much.

What about Alliance? Was my memory right on that one allowing you to play with the keyboard?
