tinyE: It is good but the land battles get a little repetitive. The scaling of the space battles however is worth the price alone; I can't stress that enough, it is totally off the charts.
Yeah, I totally only care about the space battles anyway. :P

cSly: There were probably tons of similar posts but.. How about Rogue Squadron? One of the best games in the history! At least, from my subjective perspective :)
GOG, you can do it!
I'm with you. I hope it's one of the games coming Thursday. I had a lot of fun with Rogue Squadron II when it came out. :)
Hope I'm not being *too* over the top here, and I know I'm a little late, but WOOHOO!! I'M PRACTICALLY BOUNCING OFF THE CEILING AT THIS ANNOUNCEMENT! THANK YOU GOG!!!

Ahem... I shall now return to my usual calm demeanour, and hope that I do not have to repeat this unseemly display in another day-and-a-half (or so).
Dark forces..? Nice.
Been waiting for the two Knights of the Old Republic games to arrive here, and finally both are now available! Thanks GOG for bringing them and the other Lucasfilm games to us!
Jedik nigjht non green or buggy version? did it happened?
Also I wish that would happened non drunk version
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, GOG!!! :D

I really did not thought you will release another set of LucasArts games in one (!) batch, so this is really nice surprise - and oh my - Kotor 2 - how satisfied I am to see it here, DRM free.

And X Wing vs. TIE Fighter is the game which introduced me to SW game universe - in a review. Back then, when it was a new game, no way we could afford it so I could only drool over pages of local gaming magazines.

I still have those issues somewhere.

Time to buy these.

All of these.

tinyE: If only!
My first contact with Star Wars ever was actually this very game on the Amiga.
Nice releases, GOG and Disney, though it'd be nice if you'd throw the old adventure fans a bone so they'll stop complaining.... :P

zaine-h: I'm not too familiar with the Star Wars games for the PC. I've played Star Wars Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II for the GameCube years ago. With that in mind, which (if any) of the X-Wing games would you guys recommend as being close to that kind of experience? [...]
As austen1000 hinted at, the X-Wing series (including TIE Fighter) was a series of space combat flight sims, whereas all of the Rogue Squadron games -- and pretty much all Star Wars vehicular combat games for consoles, really -- were basically arcade-style action games. There's way more complexity in the controls of the X-Wing games, and generally more freedom in how you can fly you craft, but they are also limited in at least one way compared to the Rogue Squadron titles: there are no planetary missions (at least, not in the earlier games, but I doubt there are any in XvTIE or Alliance, either). I haven't played X-Wing: Alliance, but I'm guessing if you wanted to give one of these simulator-style games a shot, that would be the most accessible for starters, at least in terms of graphics -- though there are the '98 "remakes" of the first two, I guess.
Be aware, though, that you do have to possess a joystick (or gamepad, I think) to play any of the late '90s titles in the series; only the DOS versions of X-Wing and TIE Fighter allow playing with a mouse.
Well I thought I was going to set for this year. Grim Fandango, Pillars of Eternity and Torment, but then this happened. I haven't been buying that many games as of late, but darn it gog, you forced my hand. You should be ashamed of yourself.

vojtasass: Because they are spoiled. They need HUGE kick in the ass.

vicklemos: “True love is born from understanding.”

:)
Does that mean I start inviting people over for cuddles and cake?

I know some people are sorely disappointed at what was released. Personally, I'm just going to pick up KOTOR II out of this lot. I also know it's highly unlikely that I'll ever see the game I really want on here (Transylvania). But still I'm happy we get something good instead of RPGMaker games or the Gauntlet remake.

Ophelium: Wow...some more nice games and people are still bitching...
Hah, it wouldn't be a legitimate announcement/release thread without bitching. :)

KOTOR2, yay! That was the one I was really waiting for! Never played either of the KOTOR games, but because of the praise they get and watching a lets play of the first one, I decided I wanted to play the sequel for myself.

Thank you for the detailed rundown of the differences!
Love all the good old LucasArts games coming in!

But...still waiting for the 1994 collector's version of X-Wing and the 1995 collector's version of TIE Fighter. Don't understand why we only get the first and last releases of both games and not the best middle ones.
wo-hou! another quality thing from GOG!
Have to hurry to work, but when back home I'll go through this thread and start thinking what to shop.
Assuming there's more to come, if I understood correctly? Maybe the old stuff too...
