rjbuffchix: But it is true that Galaxy can cause issues, no? Installing the game the old-fashioned way is not only the point of this store and the reason to buy from here...it is a good way to rule out what the potential problem is/was. My first suggestion would be to not use the "optional" client too.

It may seem a little odd to read in text for those not used to it, but the process of downloading and using the offline installer is quite manageable...for those a bit less into tech and just want to play, I would say this is where Support could come in and help such users learn how to use the offline installer.

What a great way that would be to foster brand loyalty!; helping the user and even teaching them something. But apparently it is better to just grant nigh-endless Cyberpunk refunds, a game where content is locked behind an online Galaxy requirement. Yes, that is how a DRM-free store should be, ha-ha.

Vampyre111: As the implicated old guy I'd like to say I know my way around my rig. I've been playing games and building my own systems before a lot of you took your first bite of solid food,

I had no problems understanding or doing any of the things suggested to me. I was very grateful for all of the helpful suggestions.

As I said, I didn't think all the effort I was putting into getting this game to work were worth it since I wasn't sure I'd like it that much. I'm currently playing Disciples Liberation, Dragon's Dogma, Mech Warrior 5 Mercs and a couple others.

Don't think for a minute anyone "scared me off" being to high tech for me.

Oh I almost forgot why I came here today, Maybe I'm not starting the game right. I clicked "New Campaign" then accept. There's a "Start" button that's greyed out. Nothing I've done has lit that puppy up. I didn't even notice it til yesterday. My eyes aren't what they used to be.

One last bit, I reinstalled just the vanilla game with no DLCs and still no workies even using run as admin. I want to stop messing with this but my stubborn problem solver part won't let me.
It’s a slightly tricky startup. You first need to create a character. On my machine it’s lower right, select male/female, a name, and create. Now you will see character in center of screen. Under start make sure main campaign is in first box, single player in next, normal difficulty in third. Then hit start. It should switch to load screen almost immediately.

So to clarify, you have to create a character before you can start a game.
Ok, you guys ready got a big laugh? I just noticed the create character button on the other side of my screen and see nightcraw1er.488s post confirming my find. I'm about 50 shades of red now,

As soon as I made a trial character, "Start" lit up. Like I said, my eyes aren't what they used to be and the font is very small.

Thanks again for all of your help.

let the noobfest begin!

Vanilla game is running fine. Im lvl 5 now and adding the DLCs back in. Now we have that whole start button issue resolved. I don't expect anymore issues.

Great news, I won’t laugh as it really is bad design by crate. In every other game character creation happens when you start the game. I also had to think about it when I first got grim dawn.
Next up, which of the various mods to add on after completion…

My apologies if my post came off as presumptuous; as that was not my intent, and really I wanted to speak generally. Happy gaming.

It's all good. I didn't want any one to misunderstand anything. My game is running just as it should. I have no idea what I'm ding but I seem to be doing it quite well so far. It's even better now that I can read the text a little easier. The 2x multiplier did the trick. Any more and things wood get messy.

Now I must restart the game to try some more early builds out. Happy Thanksgiving to my fellow Americans and God Bless everyone.
