Cyraxpt: Is there a stock limit for the food? Can't i buy lot's of food early (when it's cheap) and then grind to higher levels? Uhm, not sure if i like being limited by food unless it's balanced (finding/consuming).
But if i can rest in inns and let's say that i fight 5 enemies before doing it and that i'll gain enough to pay the inn and keep some for gear/food/etc that's also ok for me.
You limited to a certain number of days worth of food you can store. Makes sense not to carry an infinite amount of potatoes in your party right the beginning. :D You can go around maps to collect food from food bushes, it's a tonne of work though. But venturing into the desert or icelands, you'd definitely need to buy max amount of food which will cost alot, even so it might not be enough.
U pay money, rest at the inn which restores all your HP and MP, 24 hours for healing fatal wounds and that's pretty much that.
Uhm, something tells me that the game will give me a headache, i like a challenge but not so sure with all those restrictions. We'll see...

cw8: I backed it sometime ago. Playing the early access on steam which is 99% complete short of the final boss which will be released on release date. Anyone playing it?

You walk around in isometric 2D, fight in first person 3D turn-based combat. Kinda like a mix of M&M and Wizardry. Art is attractive and consistent. Gameplay is deep, fun and engaging. No visual hints on where lootables are, door triggers, quest objectives etc are not "handed" to you, they come in clues and dialogue like in Divinity Original Sin. Stats and leveling up are something you need prior consideration for. The world is detailed and split into several regions. Each regions come with their own monsters and quests and might consist of various dungeons. Combat is particularly challenging. UI looks great which they recently changed. I'm having the epic RPG feeling playing the game. 26 hours in and I'm at level 12 and I think I've seen only the first 2 starting regions completely which is probably less than 1/8s of the game. They got $35K in funding on KS, I think it's bloody amazing that they come out with the a game with a scope like this.

Not sure whether it's coming to GOG, but I really hope they bring it here.
This looks right up my alley, thanks for informing us, so many exciting and interesting games on kickstarter lately.

My opinions kinda took a little dip the last few days though :D

Coz I found out the game's 80% combat. I mean I like combat, but it's too much combat.

Oooh...yeah that's a bit of a dealbreaker, I like tactical rpgs but only so long as there's enough other content so it doesn't just feel like a hack-n-slash fest.
well I played a while now level 8 or so and I dont like it, there is no sense of progression, you are struggling in every single fight, the worst is that there are no manuals or nothing, i created a whole party based on what i thought it was the best, my warrior using his sword for example, added a bit in const, strength and a bit in agility, I wasn't aware that you needed a lot of points in agility to use a good sword ...so i had to start all over again, in the fights you got 67% chances of hitting your enemy still you miss most of the time, meh, it's not impossible just a pain to play.
I like hard games but not frustrating like this one :( I backed it on kickstarter and i dont regret it because, it's obvious they've put a lot of effort into the game and they still are but sadly it's not my kind of game, gonna keep playing wasteland instead
is the game worth the time and effort right now all things considered? i want to wait for it to be on gog.....

Actually, you are not meant to fight every enemy in the starter area. Go to some other place and see if there's easier enemies. Head east and take the first prince down if you haven't already. Avoid his guards at the gates coz they're extremely tough. I killed the guards after buying buffs before killing the prince for good for the XP since they disappear after the prince dies.

Agility is use for hitting enemies. You can buff up the Swords skill to hit better with swords. Costs 2 skill points per level up after the initial skill up. Mages do the most dmg and are highly valuable. They get powerful at the end because of the epic spells whilst the melee classes get left in the dust.

Don't see why you can't wait for it to come on GOG.

Gee, this looks pretty good! Can it scratch that Wizardry 8 itch? I might buy it when it comes here :)

Eh, I'm waiting. The way I see it, there's more than enough stuff already available for me to occupy myself with rather than supporting this Team America worship.
Anyone got it now? Impressions?
A hybrid between Might & Magic and new indi rpg games like Eschalon.
Seems extremely linear, limited and boring. I wasn't impressed.

Get quest to clear zone A. Clear it. Get a quest to clear zone B. Clear it. No freedom to really move anywhere else. Zero dialogues. This might be only for the first map or whatever, but I gave up.
There are some cool new mechanics like the amulet, food and herbs. Character UI need some improvements. Level up screen is missing some information. Some classes seem useless.

To conclude, the game simply made me feel wanting to play Wizardry or Might & Magic instead.

Sure.

I'm sure the game would appeal to some.
I suggest checking it out before you put your money on it. Even just checking longplays over youtube.
