There isn't much to character creation. Mostly just choosing your classes and gender. Your main character is an Explorer and that's fixed. You can't change stats at the start, you get 2 attribute points on each level up however. Skills and spells aren't presented to you at the start. You discover more and more skills and spells once you level up.

According to their comment it is easier to patch the game on Steam, and they only want to come to GOG when the game is relatively stable, and does not need constant patching.
Not sure what to think... I kind of understand them, but I'm also kind of a bit sad... Hmmm....

On the other hand it's nice to know that we will get a stable version from the get-go.

And with the fall sale around, I will certainly find a way to spend some money even if Lords of Xulima won't appear here tomorrow.

Lame I would say. Guess I'll hold off on getting it for awhile.

I'm ok with that, too much to play/buy until then but i hope that it offers the same pre order discount that the game had for Steam and Humble Store.

Yeah exactly! Grinding got a bad rep through MMOs, but its always my favourite part in the great RPGs, Fallout, Arcanum,M&M,Wizardry,Arkania and so on to just roam around and improve the characters.

Good news for people who like combat and grinding, bad news for people who hate grinding. The game's about 80% combat. Good thing is the combat's fun. Though you'll need to grind to level at times. And grinding you will do.

I don't mind gridding but is there some spot (dunno, magical crystal or tavern) to recover all life for a price/free?

U can rest for 8 hours or 24 hours which depletes your food supply. Food you can buy, the price goes up everytime you level till it's more expensive than gear. Or you can forage around the fruit bushes which are plentiful in some maps, few to non-existant in others. I put notes in maps highlighting all the bushes so I know where they are. U can rest in inns which doesn't deplete your food supply but will cost you gold. Different towns have different costs. I normally rest in the first town's inn which costs a standard 36gc the cheapest by far.

There's a food system in the game, everytime you walk in an area other than the town u deplete food. If you walk in green plains, you deplete at a normal rate. If you're in a desert for example, you eat food 6 times faster. Once you run out of food, u get a huge combat debuff and start taking hp damage till u die.

Is there a stock limit for the food? Can't i buy lot's of food early (when it's cheap) and then grind to higher levels? Uhm, not sure if i like being limited by food unless it's balanced (finding/consuming).
But if i can rest in inns and let's say that i fight 5 enemies before doing it and that i'll gain enough to pay the inn and keep some for gear/food/etc that's also ok for me.
