Scratch your old school RPG itch with a 70% discount on Lords of Xulima - Deluxe Edition, and the edition upgrade!

If we had to say one thing about Lords of Xulima it would be that it's huge - over 100 gameplay hours of completely original fantasy roleplay huge. With a mix of isometric exploration and first-person turn based combat - it's all the good old school gameplay you know and love to scratch that unique RPG itch. Lords of Xulima - Deluxe Edition includes exciting extra content: Talisman of Goldot DLC and the Special Digital Rewards package. The DLC includes three artifacts of epic giving power to help you on your journey, while the digital rewards are a package of impressive bonus content including an Original Soundtrack, a detailed Bestiary & Mythology of Xulima, Map of Xulima, and more! The promo lasts until July 19, 11:59 AM GMT.

CONTEST:

If the promo wasn't a good enough reason to explore the lands of Xulima, we're also happy to announce a contest for you all!

You've shown us time and time again that you’re all other kinds of creative. If you're anything like us, than about half of every extended classic RPG session was spent rolling and adjusting every possible stat on that perfect party. That's the side of RPG gaming joy that really doesn't get enough credit - so this week we want to bring it to the forefront in the most classic style!

THE GOAL:

Design (write, draw, paint, photoshop, photograph) your very own RPG character sheet. Pen and paper style. Show us the coolest, funniest or just most creative character you can think of! Is it you? Is it your cat? Is it your grandmother, vanquisher of the empty stomach? We *need* to know.

THE GOODS:

We will pick 2 winners, who will receive their very own physical (and signed!) copy of Lords of Xulima - Collector's Edition. These editions are brand new and pretty unique collectors' items featuring a world map, and two hardcover books: Secrets of Xulima Game Guide and Bestiary & Mythology of Xulima. We'll also throw in 4 GOG.com game codes worth $9.99 each!

Knowing how these things go, there'll be plenty of runners up as well - so don't hesitate to enter even if you don't think you'll be numero uno.

THE RULES:

-- We're allowing only one entry per user, so make sure it's the one you love.
-- Submit your creation as a .jpg image as a forum reply to this post. Make it an attachement, or host it on http://imgur.com/.
-- We're accepting entries until Tuesday, July 21st, at 23:59 GMT.
-- We’ll be posting our favorite entries on our social media profiles, so get ready to get some fame - we promise to credit you by your GOG.com user name.

Have fun with it!
cool
Price looks great but from what I have read, the game seems a tad too frustrating for me to play, is it more difficult than Wiz 8?
So, no promo for the standard edition or is it just an oversight?

I had lots of fun with this game, although I haven't finished it (I have played it for 35 hours or so, I think). My first party was missing all the time when attacking, so at first I created several parties and I didn't start for real until I found a setup I enjoyed. The game becomes repetitive later on (there are 4 princes that had to be defeated, 4 witches, and so on), but I enjoyed the game mechanics, the combat, and exploring that huge world. I don't think this game is particularly difficult, but I played it in normal difficulty (which should be named easy, actually).

i think its great, but thats because the collecting of herbs looks like things that are usually done in casualgames. i like these kind of games so to me its a very good game.
tried to get the retail dvd with manual (paper) and extras via bol dot com, but these ... let me wait 6 weeks before i got it, and then it was incomplete, no manual, no bestiary, only map and cd, i needed the paper manual :D

So after contacting we send it back, and ... still no reply ( 2weeks past ) so, it looks it wont be deliverd, luckil we dont have to pay for it :D cause its incomplete so bol dot com is getting even worse after ah bought it.
Here's my monster... Norbert Nippleberry: http://i.imgur.com/H7FR6RQ.jpg

He's an overweight Half-Orc bard. His favorite spell is 'dancing lights' because it is shiny and he likes to use the spell 'animal friendship' because he doesn't have any real friends. He carries four instruments but only knows how to blow on an annoying horn and he can't pronounce 'prestidigitation' (which the dungeon master penalized me for).

I had fun with him but D&D is a lot of work, especially over Skype! I'd love to try D&D on an actual table lol.

I'd consider this game one of my "surprise hits" of this year(*). I wasn't expecting too much after looking at the screenshots, but it's surprisingly fun. Tons of content and some interesting ideas and game mechanics. If you like ( mostly ) old school RPGs then this is a no-brainer, especially at the current price.

( * Yes, I know, apparently it was released last year. But I think I didn't start playing until some time early this year... Anyhow, details shmetails. )
NOTE: I edited the post to change the image to one that didn't require all sorts of annoying licensing links. Now it's a Witcher 3 image from the GOG storefront! :)

Here's my entry: http://imgur.com/qgP3amD

The description: Here's my entry - a woman-hating deity who led women into slavery and pain only to realize that she was in fact a woman -- and now stuck in on Earth as a mortal. The character image is from a screenshot of The Witcher 3 at GOG.com!

catpower1980: OK, I'm dumb so could you explain how you do a RPG character sheet "pen&paper style". Must it be like a template of D&D rpg? Are stats obligatory? Can we go freestyle like this guy for his character on GTA Online:
http://gtaforums.com/topic/640012-whats-your-characters-backstory/page-13#entry1067038698

And also, must it be set in strict fantasy typical D&D/LOTR-like world or can it go into another setting like Vampire The Masquerade or Fallout? So many questions awaiting answers.... :o)
The reason we’ve set literally no requirements as to what to include is because we want to see how creative you can get - use a pre-existing template, or don’t, or make up your own :) As long as it’s a character you’d want to play in a pen&paper setting of Lords of Xulima, it’s good to go - whether high fantasy, cyberpunk, inanimate, historically inspired, or other still!
I recently made a new "Call of Cthulhu" character sheet for my group (we are playing by Saga rules).
I hope you don't mind that its German :-)
If anyone is interested in it, I can also translate it to English! Just write me a note!

Here you go ...

Making it a screenie would be rather difficult, plus I couldn't make a good-enough image to go with the stats, so here's the stats alone (sorry, text form):
