Hello,
Does anyone remember the name of a WW 1 flight sim maybe more arcade then, wherein your missions were blowing up bridges and trains and some other stuff. It had great graphics but was not serious combat sim in that you usually were on the offensive, destroying enemy targets then dogfights or the like.

Cheers

Boz
Aces of Aces?
Maybe it's one of the Red Baron games made by Sierra/Dynamix. Red Baron 1 was released in 1990 and
Red Baron 2 was released in 1997-8. Both games are sold here on GOG:

Red Baron came first to my mind, like Kobi-K, could it be Wings from Cinemaware, since I have heard it was "arcadish" too?

I really like the Red Baron game. I had so much fun with it back in the day. I just love that time period for aces..
I thought of another game called Wings of Glory from 1994-5 by Origin, the makers of the Wing Commander series.
I never had or played it, but the gameplay looks to be with more action and dogfights, like Wing Commander 1 & 2 .

My guess would be Wings too. Esp. the train "strafing" missions were really arcadish.
Hi good people,
Thank you for throwing some game names my way. Some I never heard of. So went investigating. I think the game Im looking to get is Wings of War as the 2 info instruments at the bottom of the screen look familiar. . And just as a humble way of saying thank you, I found a hugh list of WW1 Flight Sims at this site. And actually begins in 1981. Also it came back to me that this was a third person style game and even more, I do remember upon viewing image that can be your rear gunner when allowed. Hope this mention will steer someone to a WW1 sim that they never heard off and decide to try. Oh and if this is the game Im looking for, I remember that it was a hoot to play, its a lot of fun.

Million thanks again.

Boz

Not really a WW1 game but if you got an Amiga I would highly recommend Wings of Fury. It's still good fun.

Ace of Aces was a good game - but it was also WW 2.
