Seweryn: Bard's tale is worst piece of shit i have played. maybe not the worst, sorry for being too vocal but i really do not like this game.
Not much for it as a game, true, especially since it's a console game just dumped on PCs, without controls (or save concept) changing to fit, but in between what you said you played and what was suggested already I was out of really good suggestions. What it is, however, is darn funny, just really had fun playing it, which is extremely rare for me, tend to get way too serious and worried about doing things just right, so that's why I mentioned it.
Is Raven's Cry worth it ?

Seweryn: All game from Ultima series or one of them.
I never was a big fun or ps 2 era rpg games, i really do not get why they are so popular. Never liked how they look.
Not to mention i just cannot take seriously any final fantasy game. I just can't sorry.
Ultima 7 or Underworld, they are basically the apex at their own franchise.
You could always go Alpha Protocol if you feel fancy.
Ps2 era games of what kind though? it's a top down like disgaea while having the story of a fire emblem game, factions, classes, weapon mastery and all the good shit. I get the FF feel, it's saturated, but really the only games that are good are because not many notice them, Go FF3 for a serious storyline that could turn 7 into a bitch, go for 5 or 4 if you want Bravely Default TEN YEARS BEFORE IT WAS RELEASED, or you could go 9 if you felt like then playing Breath of Fire 4, which is also a great game (that has the same issues Final Fantasy Tactics in the GAME BOY has...but the series in question it's pretty good until you reach dragon quarter and let me tell you, it's like playing that modded Super Mario 64 in Dark Souls, it's not fucking worth it when you CAN'T SAVE)

Alpha Protocol worth it? I've heard great things and horrible things. Overrated? Underrated?

Depends on what you want from a game. Alpha Protocol does a great job of having your choices in conversations have influence throughout the narrative and the real time version of the dialog wheels works quite well.

On the more negative side- The levels themselves are quite linear, the game is short,. and the gameplay mechanics are a bit wonky. But each of these negative traits are themselves positives to me in some sense about the game. The linear short levels makes it so I can get through the game faster therefore making replaying it more feasible and more fun than a lot long huge RPGS. The shooting is a lot like the original Deus Ex, with it taking a long time for the reticle to be ready to hit an enemy but that gets leveled up. Also some combat powers later on get over powered. The stealth gets super easy and broken once you get leveled up enough in the game. But all of this just adds to the fun to me as well by seeing how silly the mechanics are and feeling like a super powered being (even though the main character is just tan ordinary human so it has a lot of game play story segregation.

The worst thing about the game is the mandatory boss fights to me.

Regarding Alpha Protocol, I think its rather mediocre, it doesnt do anything too bad, but it doesnt do anything great.
Its unique as in its a spy RPG-shooter, but other than that, theres nothing special about that game.
It can be fun from time to time, but for the most part the gameplay feels pretty generic.
Not sure if this helped, sorry, mybe you could watch a gameplay video of one mission to see if you like it.
King's Field was OK, you played that? Much like ARX Fatalis in many respects.
