Are you a gamer with sons age 11-16? We need your help designing a RPG for dads and sons to play together.

We are a team of psychologists and game designers with the non-profit Committee for Children to find ways for fathers and sons to work on socioemotional puzzles in commercial video games.

We need father-son teams willing to spend about an hour testing games and chatting with us about your experiences. You can participate from your home--all you ned is a PC with an Internet connection, Firefox or IE, and Skype or Google Hangouts installed.

We're ready when you are! We'll be scheduling testing sessions throughout October, but please let us know if you're interested in playing this week.

Interested? Questions? Contact Kristen at kristen.gametest at gmail dot com or on Skype (kristen dot gametest); please include your names and your child's age in your message.

Thanks!

Why only fathers and sons, and not mothers and daughters? Or, for that matter, why not those with non-binary identities?

You probably shouldn't post your email address so directly, or you'll get a lot of spammers. Try writing (DOT) instead of putting actual dots .

Probably because it's a scientific study. Reduce the number of variables to begin with, introduce them later and compare. Maybe they'll get some data, then introduce daughters instead of sons, then introduce mothers... etc.

We're just getting started, so starting with a small, targeted population/relationship. Depending on our findings, we'll add other groups/relationships.
I'm a 39 year old that acts like he's 11, does that help?

Ah... would have been interesting, but I only have two daughters (7, almost 8, and 4). And I guess the things is English only which would be a hindrance for my children (although the big one is really keen on learning English).

Your question forgets to inquire about including grandparents and is therefor discriminating on an intergenerational level...

If you had multiple personality disorder and could switch between those two at will, maybe?

Because it is their project. Let them do what they want.
If you want to only play with little girls and so go about convincing little boys that they too have vaginas. Go do it with your own project. In fact just go and do something yourself, rather then just bitching about what others are actually doing.

Let others do what they want, the way they want.

Yes. Want to partner with me, son? I am not eligible, but if we cooperate instead...

Sounds like an interesting study. Unfortunately my kids are too small.

(As for the gender issue, I probably would have entered with my daughter as a father-son team if it was relevant.)

Of course it will help. You can enter alone and be both

.......... unless.......... the test require you to grow an extra pair of hands....................
