I'm actually asking for a friend of mine who doesn't frequent any forums, or really the internet in general. But I see him tomorrow so that will be the earliest that I can provide confirmation.

It was a live action series with two teens/pre-teens who may have been twins : a boy and a girl, and they went on all sorts of adventures They had some sort of weird power(s) (magical maybe) which they activated / called upon, and he vaguely recalls this involving bright beams of light across the sky. Sounds like it must've been an 80s show, but possibly even 70s.

Was it English?

I watched alot of the 70's/80's shows as a kid so might be able to help. Problem is, chances are I don't remember the name myself. And if I do, it won't be the English one. Let me see what I can find.

"Friend"... hehehe

More like boss actually, but it wasn't a dirty show I swear! At least I hope not :P

My first guess would be that it was english, but we also got a lot of english dubbed european shows here back then. The way it was described to me though left me with a strong hunch that it was an American show.
When the twins called upon their magical powers, did they yell anything, like "For great justice!" or "Woozie-woo!" or "AAAAAAARGH!"?

Lol he didn't mention :) But given the period they most likely shouted something, or did some sort of signature move
Could this be "The Wonder Twins" from back in the 70s

It's live action, not a cartoon.
Heil Honey, I'm Home? :P

"Shape of... Ice Bullets!"

"Form of... uh, some kind of animal that can shoot ice bullets out of its mouth at high velocity and super duper accurately. Without the ice bullets melting first. Er, you know what I mean. Form that thingy!"

For what it's worth, that's the first show that came to mind for me, too, but then the live action part stumped me.

I wonder if he was thinking of the "Witch Mountain" series ...a continuation of Escape from Witch Mountain. Which had a sequel film "Return from Witch Mountain" and a 1-hour long TV Movie in 1982 "Beyond Witch Mountain". I recall all of them frequently as repeats back then.

The original film was Disney, and a lot of those '70s Disney films got played a lot (especially some Kurt Russell ones).

Try this---I thought it sounded familiar. Nickelodeon showed this under the program label "The Third Eye" back in the 1980s.

From the wikipedia entry for The Third Eye:

"Under the Mountain
Twins Rachel and Theo Matheson have limited telepathic abilities and can wield light as a weapon. Aided by the mysterious alien Mr. Jones, they must defeat an evil alien who lives Under the Mountain of Rangitoto Island. Their main power, though, is a psychic bond with two stones from another world which are used as weapons, and (it is strongly implied) may be sentient life forms. Adapted from the book by Maurice Gee."

That sounds pretty promising thanks, I'll find out Hmmm perhaps, but I didn't understand the boy and girl to be married, or to be nazis. So no I don't think this is it :P

OK. I didn't watch this as a kid.

Or maybe I did, but my conscious mind wiped off all memories of it.

Glad I was able to dredge something up out of my own tween/teen memories that would help! (And I should really go back and binge-watch all the miniseries Nick used to run under that label, just to see how awful they look now.)
