Hey guys thanks for reading.

I'm looking for a flight game where you have the ability to eject from / land your craft and walk around. I don't care if it's a contemporary flight sim or a futuristic one, and I don't care whether it's arcade-y or realistic or even a good game.

I do however have three caveats;
1) It must primarily be a flight game -- not a game where flying is a secondary means of travel.
2) The ability to switch between ground and air should be an element of gameplay -- so games where ground missions and air missions are separate are out.
3 The game world can't be randomly generated. Nothing like No Man's Sky or Minecraft or Notcis.

I've found games that match a few of these criteria, but none with all three. The closest thing I can think of is the old Mercenary trilogy that started in 1985, and even that's a stretch. Something like Rogue Squadron except where you can organically land your ship would be ideal.

So yeah, anyone know of anything? I'd appreciate the help, this is something that's been bugging me for awhile.

Try 3d action Gun Metal. In this game futuristic mech can transform into a plane.

All I can think of are games such as the Battlefield series, but flight is not a primary must-do mechanic, and there aren't really missions or scenarios (the campaign is simply the same game maps with a story blurb at the beginning). But you can certainly fly, jump out, and walk around.
This reminds me of a game or demo I played decades ago. Started like a run of the mill WW2 airplane sim. Then there dropped UFOs in the middle of a mission and it went crazy. It had ground and plane part. Now that I think about it there was an add about piloting UFOs in the full version to if my memory does not prank me that was a demo.

Hell now I want to remember the name; all I remember was "I want that" but than forgot it for some reason.
I can't believe I remember this but Captain Goodnight had a lot of ejecting out of planes and jumping out of helicopters.

I'm seriously doubting the OP was alive when it came out. :P
Parkan 1 and 2 might be what you're after though I haven't played these myself (yet), otherwise I can't think of anything that matches this until maybe Star Citizen comes out.

There are a few close matches like the aforementioned by the previous gog members and:
- Mace Griffin: Bounty Hunter, though mostly an FPS
- Nuclear Strike, 3rd person action game where on some occasions you can switch from chopper to a ground vehicle
- Seek and Destroy as well as Return Fire, similar to Nuclear Strike though here you choose your vehicle at the start of each mission.
Does Microsoft Flight Simulator do ejections?

Tcharr: Does Microsoft Flight Simulator do ejections?
No, which would have been nice with the original when I kept flying into buildings.

Ha! I remember that one, great game, really a game for the thread of games that were ahead of their time.
Did Mass Effect have landing?

That sounds familiar, I definitely played something similar. Was it this one?

Kerbal Space Program. It has all the elements you seek, plus many more. Some things you can do:

● Build a plane, fly it in Kerbin (Earth), try not to crash.
● Play Search & Rescue. Place some Kerbonauts somewhere and try to save them. This scenario will happen to you when you first start the game anyway. ;)
● Build a rocket. Fly to Mün (Moon). Plant a flag. Be proud!
● Build a rocket. Build a rover. Find a way to bind them together. Go to another planet. Take the rover for a ride there.
● Same as above, but instead of a rover, build a plane. Find a planet with an atmosphere. Fly your plane there and write history.

Cheers!

That does not look familiar... I might be mistaken. Its too long ago I guess :(
The closest game I can think of that might meet all your criteria is Star Citizen. It's currently an early access title but promises to have all those features in the final release. You can check the current progress of the game here.
