I am turning to the community for inspiration. :)

I am looking for a building game/city builder/sandbox game. A list of games i would put into this category:

- Anno series
- Sim City 2000
- Settlers series
- Caesar/Pharao/Zeus
- Craft the World
- Terraria
- Starbound
- Stardew Valley
- Factorio

These above all fit what i am looking for at the moment (and i have played them all except the newer uplay exclusive Annos)

I am especially looking for somewhat slower games, where i have to create something, but can do so mostly at my own pace. Some grinding aspects are fine, but it should not be too much.
Nothing in first or third person perspective, so the one million Minecraft clones (or Minecraft itself) are out.

Available on GoG preferred, but i do not mind Steam. If possible no games that are in early access (or at least not those that are not already established)

I was considering Rimworld. While it is in Early Access, it seems to be somewhat close to release. It has great ratings on Steam, but it's comparatively expensive.
I liked the free build in Stronghold.

Well then I;m scratching my head since that's third person view....

Oh and it's Early Access in name only. It was originally released back in late 2013 labeled as an Alpha. The creator considers it Beta software now but it works fine.

amok: Prison Architect

also

Clockwork Empires
Would Rollercoaster Tycoon fit the criteria? I never played it myself.
Banished

It's pretty heavy on the worker management side though.

Lethis - Path of Progress
There's Battle Realms + Winter of the Wolf (going for $2US right now) but it does have a lot of action outside of building your village. Very fun game though, especially if you like anything to do with Japanese mythology/culture

I never really got into Stronghold. Played the original, but it never "clicked" for me.

All screenshots i saw of Rimworld are in a top down perspective. I guess you can call that third person, but i meant it as in third person shooter.

I heard good things about Prison Architect. Taken into consideration :)

Clockwork Empires looks cool, and i like period it is set in, but according to reviews it seems to be only nominally out of early access and has been abandoned by the devs?

Banished is to stressful for me i think.

Lethis also looks very cool. Noted down as well.
How about something like Roller Coaster Tycoon? With the gog version you can run it through openrct2 which provides widescreen support as well as a host of other much needed features.

Might as well check out openttd as well then. You don't directly build as much as you do in RCT, instead you build up an intricate transport network that turns towns into massive cities.

Startopia is an excellent and pretty laid back space station construction game.

Something in the tropico series may be worth a look as well.

If you can get anno 2070 working somehow, then it's pretty excellent as well. It's a proper anno game in a scifi setting. The only problem of course is uplay.
I would recommend:

- Tropico Series.

- Constructor.

Both building + hilarious.
