Anybody else having this habit of not playing a game and just end up watching it because of too many backlogs?

No, but I do love watching old reviews. There's something real appealing about watching a show where people talk about games like KKND as if it a new title. One day I hope I can get my hands on all Cybernet episodes

No, but I can play more if I don't waste time watching other people do it :)

Only if the video is entertaining to watch and the game:
- is a console exclusive, never playable on PC.
- works more as a movie, than as a game.
- is a bad but funny title.
- is too difficult for me, but I want to see it completed.

People actually watch those things? I always considered making a few game commentary videos since I've been told I'm good at humorous writing, but I always feared they were too overrated and nobody would bother watching.

Time spent on something entertaining isn't really wasted. Plus, you can do other things simultaneously while watching a video, such as cooking/ eating/ or working on something. With most games that's not really possible while playing them yourself. And then of course, there's exclusive games, which you may be interested in, but can't play since you don't own the required hardware.

TL;DR: There's valid reasons for watching a video of a game, instead of playing it yourself. And depending on the video host(s), it can be a really fun and/or informative experience.

I often watch lets play or twitch streams of games that I have no intention of ever playing myself but want to see what happens.

no. I don't understand why the fuck you would watch a game if you can play one. even if it's not that one.

sometimes I'll watch LP to see if I'll like a game. when I do that though, I usually set a limit of 5 or so episodes because I don't want to ruin the game for myself.

Another thing to consider is that sometimes interesting things happen when somebody plays the game that don't happen for other players. For instance, the game could glitch in an interesting way.

Final Fantasy V is one of my favorite games, and I enjoy watching videos (especially things like Low Level Game videos) to see what strategies other players have come up with.

Also, in games that have significant RNG components, somebody else's playthrough will likely be different from your own. (Roguelikes are a good example of this.)
