I am fairly new to GOG Galaxy, so bare with me.

I purchased the Witcher 3 a while ago when it was on sale off of GOG. I just got around to installing yesterday afternoon, but I'm still here downloading it. Galaxy says I have a 2.2 MB download speed, but it's taken over 36 hours to download what should've at worst happened in 24. I couldn't help but notice the initial 50% took me about 4 hours, but it shouldn't make sense for it to take another 32 hours to download even less than 50%.

Another thing is that when I close out of Galaxy to restart, I will often lose a few GB, which is frustrating when it's taken this long already. I've played with the concurrent connections a few times, and that seems to help, but then the downloader will hang somewhere for what seems like forever.

Has anyone experienced anything like this, or have a solution?

That shouldn't be happening. Could you submit an issue to mantis.gog.com, and attach your log files? Thanks!

I don't have Witcher 3, but it does sound like Galaxy, in its glitchy beta state, simply isn't giving you a very accurate picture of what you've actually downloaded.

I have however noticed that downloads through Galaxy can drop in speed part way through for no good reason and not pick up again despite there not being any connection problems.

In short, it's not very good yet and it might be quicker to start over and download the files through your browser. A pain in the arse, but possibly quicker than the alternative.

Can you walk me through getting a log?

I submitted a report, but it also looks like I'm getting lots of timeouts.

Check the first sticky post in this topic: http://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_galaxy_beta_2/post1 - at the very top of it you will find instructions for bug reporting and where to find logs :).

I looked through the logs myself and noticed a lot of timeouts around 3:30 AM EST.

Also, I'm getting general errors left and right from the past hour (it's hung up again). Lots of "Installer is busy." Again, the report is up

Love how there are alts talking shit about a seemingly pretty valid technical issue. :)
