gamesfreak64: GoG = better then anyone
i only have other sites because i like casual games, small simple games , run windowed, dont require much time, and most have quite low requirements.
I get the real games from GoG.
paladin181: Eh. GOG has its disadvantages too. Like, for instance, being ill equipped or prepared to support the growth that they rather intentionally sought. They don't have the structure, personnel, equipment, or seemingly the knowledge to support their growing customer base. They also appear to lack the will to support it given the state of the forums and the basic functions of the website that are broken and either ignored or repaired partially (creating other problems that will be ignored or repaired improperly leading to even more problems).
They have PR managers like Fables and Konrad to tell us "people are aware and a solution is being worked on" for problems that could certainly be fixed within a week (I'm looking at you, patching out DRM in games or broken site features) and after said promise is made, the threads requesting the fix are revived ANNUALLY to remind GOG (who doesn't care at all) that these problems still exist.
Then there's the "core principles" that have been rescinded and taken away until DRM-free is the only one left standing. Equal pricing has gone out the window, at the very least.
I'm not saying it's not better than VALVe and Steam over here, but I don't pretend like it's still some kind of utopian dream.
i know.... but so far the only biggest problem i have right now is the vc lib thing, seems when devs add achievements i seem to be the only one getting problems with the libs, oh sir game doesnt work after they added achievements for galaxy, so when and if they update the game i will be having my second game that gone dead because of the need to add achievments, so yes this is until now the only big problem i have, but since i seem to be the only one, nothing is done about it, i could go and complain but that would NOT help me.
While yo are complaining about some issues gog has according to you:
win 10 comp with games might be THE problem.
Unless all 1000s games work with win 10 there wont be a problem.
Suppose 200 games you bought cant be made to work..... since in the future there wont be hardware build that can be read by old win 7 and 8, so even if people want to keep the old win7 as games pc offline they cant ebcause the hardware doesnt live forever, the challenge will be 1000s of games thant probably wont work but were paid for,
so taken all this , there will always be something to complain about.
So i guess if and when time comes that all old games wont work no longer on win 10 we will have to do with that, nothing we can chnage about it and even by gooing nuts and driving ourselves crazy things wont change, so its a matter of accepting and keep accepting things in life because we have to.
(ps attach image stopped working since now in ff 50.01 (current version) maybe some tech can check if it is FF related or a simple flaw.))
