That is why "service unavailable" and "error XXXX"? Just as i was trying to get the new badge/cards and vote for games, too...

mechmouse: By having the words "NO REFUNDS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES", that was exactly what they were trying to do.
The vast majority of Steam users are covered by consumer protection laws, its inclusion and use by VALVe was unlawful.
I don't remember exactly how it was worded but every time I read the eula they always had the exception 'unless your local law blah blah'. Something to that extent.

True, that line is in there. Its a bit of a get out clause, but people like us that read and understand these documents are a tiny minority.

It doesn't matter if they have a clause or disclaimer if the original wording misled consumers.

The court ruled that Steam breached Australian Consumer Law because it stated consumers were not entitled to a refund, a disclaimer or clause doesn't change that.

You cannot do that shit here, nor can you refuse refunds just because it's a digital product.

BTW, EULAs aren't automatically legal, it depends on many things like the EULA's wording and the jurisdiction.

In the UK EULA's are considered "Sale notices", which are the little notes behind the counter that say "Sold as Seen" or "No refunds on X items". They have very little legal weight.
i never read a full EULA in my whole life

Seeing as they can be 30+ pages... and that's just for one part, each library can have it's own 30+ pages of EULA.

FTFY
And there was also the case of an EULA recruiting the user to defend Earth in case of an alien attack somewhere on page 732something. Can't to find the link right now.

i always look how big the scroll bar is :D

if it is pretty tiny.... i wont bother cause then you get dozens of pages which are absically all telling the same nonsense.
the problem is these guys talk like politicians, they blabber but they dont see anything usefull, cause all these people talk is trash and nonsense.

Same goes for the president obama and all the ones before him, thats why the curent president elect might be the 1st one who talks common just like the 'common' people, i watched many videos and the funny thing is for the first time i knew what a president (elect) was telling.

People who write the EULAS and all the TOS should try that, but the reason they won't is because they dont want to write anything that might be used against them in a court of law and thats why all these 'agreements' are trash.

They will never use plain english.

Anyway, i got my game after 20 or 30 minutes which is way to slow cause they are fast to deduct the cash from the prepaid but their own steam service is so slow.

Someone that offers simple solutions to extreamly complex problems is either a Genius or doesn't really understand that problem.

As much as I hope its the former, he is a successful businessman, I fear its the later.

How in the world do you try to turn a thread about Steam getting sued and related EULAs into a political argument?
