Lifthrasil: We collected stores that people around here already bought from, to make sure the stores are legit. Personally I have games on Humble, Zoom Platform, Fireflower Games and itch.io
I have just bought my first 2 games from there (Zoom). Duke Nukem 1+2. Little known store but it is legit. Very simple website. Ah. So it's more than just a solo effort. Makes sense. Thank you, guys. Really helpful stuff.

high rated
Since GOG still keeps refusing to add other distributors to their embarrassing FCKDRM site, I think this thread deserves a little bump instead. I think it is important to raise awareness that GOG is not standing alone in the fight against DRM.

"GOG is not standing alone", or in fact standing at all. It's funny really that as they move forward with the - the only way is client land - that they have to resort to extreme shock tactics like #FCKDRM to drag more customers over from steam. Because it is so hard to tell the difference anymore.

Since GOG still keeps refusing to fix their super buggy website, I think this thread deserves a little bump.

Are you sure about that? They don't state 'DRM-free' anywhere on their product pages and they would advertise it if they actually sold DRM-free games. Yes, in the pre-launch announcements they said they wouldn't insist on DRM, but since the launch they have been awfully quiet on that topic.
Also, I contacted their support and asked: "Do you sell DRM-free games and will you mark them as such." and the reply was: 'We are sorry, but we cannot answer that question.'
But regardless, even if they start selling DRM-free games, you would still need their Launcher to download them. Just like Steam.

Really wouldn't consider them for this list either.

Evidence? I would advise waiting for at least 6months to a year before stating that.

At least two games on Epic Games are confirmed to be DRM-free.
You still have to download them with their proprietary client though.
Since it is still questionable, I removed Epic Games from #1 for now.

ADDED
Kartridge

About Epic Games:
Quite some games there have been proved to be DRM-free.
But I do not list it at OP this time.

Which ones are DRM-free there? All of the ones I checked had the line "Requires Kartridge App to play". Which means they aren't DRM-free.

I have a question regarding VN's bought from Jast, MangaGamer, Denpasoft etc. Do you have a library there, like you would on Gog and Steam, or do they simply hand you download links and that's all you get? Or are your download links listed with order perhaps, like Gog? Are they re-usable, or am I expected to back up a one-time download? None of their FAQ's give much indication, so this is really the only place I can ask.

Append the option -EpicPortal to executables or made shortcuts. Also, I contacted their support and asked: "Do you sell DRM-free games and will you mark them as such." and the reply was: 'We are sorry, but we cannot answer that question.'

At least four games there were reported as DRM-free.
Four is good enough for me, so I re-added it to OP.
