AtariAge is more of a forum, but you can find quite a few projects released for free by the devs in the posts there, all of them seemingly being DRM free ROMs. They also have a store, but I think it's mostly for physical games.

There's also some Atari BIOS'es in a part of the site, and according to some support tickets I sent to Atari, Atari doesn't seem to mind these files being there (attached images, redacted my name and the ticket IDs because I imagine they are sensitive information).

Just don't say anything doubting the almighty Amico there, you'll get banned. :P

I know some websites has a lot of fanmade games, which are usually DRM-free.
I am not sure if I should list those websites in #1.

I think it is good to list DRM-free ROMs provided by their devs, but list atariage.com as a "digital distributor" is a bit strange for me.
Reviving this thread because I found this post that I feel like it's pertinent here, since Groupees sells DRM free games every now and then:
https://www.reddit.com/r/GameDealsMeta/comments/rcny0t/groupees_is_undergoing_some_major_changes/

tl;dr: Groupees is doing some changes in 2022 and there's a chance DRM free contents you can download from your library may be at some form of risk (either retroactively adding DRM, removing the downloads or something else, it's not made clear).

Still, as the post says and as people should always do with DRM free contents they buy, back them up as soon as possible.
The dev team 6502 Workshop sells their game, Nox Archaist (which is also here on GOG) in their store:
https://nox-archaist.myshopify.com/collections/nox-archaist/products/nox-archaist-digital-edition

Comes with an Apple II ROM, which should work in both the original Apple IIe (enhanced), IIc and IIgs machines, as well as in compatible emulators.

Great find!! I had been tempted by this title but not quite felt it was a "must-have" to buy here and break a boycott over. Now it is in further consideration.

It's also on Itchio, although it's not on sale right now.

GamersGate.com seems to be slowly killing off all the DRM-free games - not only obscure games like Zenfar have been taken off the site, also some of the more well received ones like Recettear, Drakensang and Venetica.
In the meantime, is it just me or does Humble Bundle seem to be pushing their DRM free titles more?

From what I observed, they're currently hosting the second edition of what seems to be a yearly sale now:
https://www.humblebundle.com/store/promo/drm-freedom-2021/

Edit: Thought it was yearly, but I guess I remembered it wrong. A new one after only 6 months sounds even better than yearly!

I've seen DRM free games on Gumroad before:
https://gumroad.com/

Just mind they're kinda like Itchio in the sense of being DRM-agnostic and having hardly no curation of what's posted there.

Forgive me if anyone mentioned but I don't see Matrix Games on here (https://www.matrixgames.com). I haven't tested the site so please don't take this as gospel but it appears at a glance one can obtain DRM-free offline installers and even (in at least some cases) have the option of buying a physical DVD copy!

According to their forum, matrixgames.com do provide DRM-free games.
I will edit #1 later.
