A slight bump: I have now checked my entire library, though not everything using the new method of removing Steam first. Both lists are updated, the only new catch was Sniper Elite. Triple-As are pretty consistent in their DRM use. I'm going to re-check some of the games eventually to make sure there isn't another Grimrock hiding in there, but for now this is all I can do.

A further Bump:

New Star Soccer 5 Got released on steam yesterday, and requires steam to run. (you get a free steam code when you are a premium subscriber)

I am happy to announce Cortex Command is DRM-free.

Dungeons of Dredmor may run without Steam but, perhaps obviously, mods downloaded through the Steam Workshop aren't available.

That isn't obvious, that's pretty weird. I'll add a note.

Dont know. It says "You require Steam version of The Binding Of Isaac to play".

Yeah, that's because Steam offers it as DLC (so that effectively means you can't purchase it separately without owning the base game). I have some game like that on Steam (Bastion, perhaps?), and what it does is simply download the soundtrack in .mp3s into the game folder.

So this applies to Wrath of the Lamb too?

I've seen quite a bit of traffic from this group so I thought I'd drop in and clarify why I created the drm free list the way it was and request permission to credit the TC and use the information collected here to update it.

The primary reason was time and I mostly geared the information towards Steam users, gathering a lot of my information from the big list. Most of the information was collected by myself over several weeks, and I simply didn't believe that Steam users would consider games that required Steam the same as other forms of DRM. I can see that this isn't the absolute most accurate way of listing it, but then comes my other reason, a lack of time.

I worked to get a lot of that information up fast, and honestly didn't put enough thought into the CEG usage. So over the weekend, I will update the list of DRM to include CEG with the Steamworks category and update the database with what I see here. If I have any others in my library you haven't tested, I'll get that added asap.

Finally, I don't want to snipe users from the TCs thread or anything, but if you do see an error in my list, I encourage you to report that. There's several links on the site to do that.

I don't have a problem with that, as long as we get some credit, I suppose (though admittedly, I don't know what TC stands for). Your site has more visibility than this list, so it will be more useful there.

You've probably noticed the list and link to the pastebin of tested games in the first post; I just updated the second post about the methodology of the testing because of what we found out about Legend of Grimrock (see here). That's pretty much all you should need to update your data.
