Also, isn't Torchlight & Torchlight II also DRM free?
I don't know about Torchlight 1 but I have Torchlight 2 and it requires Steam to work,

amok: Don't know about T1, but for T2 - single player is DRM free, but multiplayer is not
Are you positive about T2 Single Player being DRM-Free? Last I tried to DL the game from Steam it required the client.

Just added Shadowrun: Dragonfall - Director's Cut to the list. You don't even need to delete any files, it just works right away.

I'm not sure if it counts but still...

After installing and running "The Banner Saga" I moved it elsewhere, ahem, 'misplaced' steam_api.dll and tried to run the game again. I got an error message saying the game can't run without that absolutely crucial file (was asked if I had misplaced my brain as well... nah, just kidding) and then... the game ran as if nothing happened.

Thats weird. Banner Saga devs claimed to have worked on *technical issues* which prevented a drm free release for backers originally (we thought it was a lazy copout and them removing steamworks) --> in theory Banner Saga on steam *should* still require steam unless they changed things....

Details: I bought it on this winter sale, downloaded and tried 'misplacing' the file about a week ago. It's "The Banner Saga - Deluxe" edition (the only difference from the normal one that was mentioned on the store page was the inclusion of the soundtrack). Mind that it still pops up a message with a warning.

How long ago was that situation with *technical issues*? Do you know if anyone tried to run the Steam version without Steam client back then?
No rush with these questions, I'm not very likely to be online to read the answers before the end of the month anyway.

Update: copied the game to my laptop and it runs without any error messages. As you can see on the screenshot, Steam isn't running.

I just added the Linux version of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! to the list. Unlike Borderlands 2, the Pre-Sequel doesn't require any special terminal commands; just double-click BorderlandsPreSequel in the installation folder and it'll start. (If you run it in a terminal window, it gives you an error message about requiring Steam, and then it promptly ignores itself.)

Like Borderlands 2, however, I believe that only the base game is recognized, and any DLC can only be accessed if Steam is running.

Here you go. While you can no longer purchase the game from there, you can still download it and use the key attached to Spacechem in your Steam library.

A few days ago I bought Black Mirror 1-3 on Steam since they all have no CEG, they added German language and the game is not any more available on GOG. Now I wanted to edit the list because Black Mirror 1 is not included in it (even if it has no CEG) but I don't know how to do it. I klicked on "Edit" and then I go into edit mode. But how on earth can I know insert a new line? I would love to test all my Steam games if they do run without Steam and edit the list - but I just don't lmow how to do it. Can somebody please give me step by step instructions how to insert additional lines to the wiki list? Thank you!

They either start Steam or fail to start with a message that steams not running
Use official patch 1.30 from developer site (or google) on World Of Goo and it does not require steam anymore.


A bit OT:
Regarding "Dead Space (1)" it is funny. I have the Origin version of the game and you can copy this anywhere you like. So as long as the game has not been released on GOG there is a "DRM-Free" solution.

Wait, what? You can copy Dead Space to a different computer and play it without a problem if it's the Origin version? I thought it had an activation limit.

EDIT: I just tried it, and it gives me an error saying that Origin isn't installed.

Okay. This thread is stupid for one single reason. There are NO DRM free games on Steam at all, since Steam itself is a fucking DRM. Is it seriously so hard to get into your thick skulls, you Valve fanboys?
You bitch and moan about Origin, UPlay and GFWL but still praise Steam, which is the exact same thing!
