Ha ha no this. :)
"In 2000, Giustra left the firm and it was taken over by Jon Feltheimer and Tom Ortenberg. They decided to focus on the profits of videos and DVDs and began buying struggling firms that controlled large libraries. The two most notable acquisitions were Trimark Holdings (650 titles) in 2000[2] and Artisan Entertainment in 2003.[4] The Trimark purchase also included CinemaNow, a broadband streaming website, where Lionsgate could feature its own movies.[2] These two along with other firms gave Lions Gate the second largest DVD library of any company, which includes Total Recall, Reservoir Dogs, On Golden Pond, Young Guns, Dirty Dancing and It's a Wonderful Life, in some cases via output deals with StudioCanal, ITC/Carlton, and Republic Pictures (the result of prior licensing deals with Lions Gate's home video predecessor Artisan).[citation needed]"

Well gosh darn it too. Not even 'owning' it with DRM.
I wonder if American Psycho is on VHX somehow.

Tarm: Exactly how many movies did you think you just bought?
Plain zero.

No option to buy and the rental price being higher than what I paid for DVD copies of a few of these... Uh, good luck Lionsgate.

-laughs- My thoughts exactly.
The movies available to me seem awful.
Why would I pay to stream them? O_o
Don't see myself buying limited time movies for that price either.
high rated
So, this is like replacing your DVD rental shop at a higher price?

Prah: You can read more about it here.

Too bad they're not striking a deal with GoG to bring their movies here DRM-free!
Seeing how they're going about it, I'd say snowing in hell is more likely than a deal with GOG.

EDIT: typo

I feel that is similar to their game business, too. :-(

Well, GOG can claim that they got there first.
