shmerl: I had a discussion with them, and it seems the site is full of clueless people who think Steam is a solution for all problems. I'm not really interested in such environment. They closed the thread, as apparently they aren't interested in DRM-free releases. I'm not interested in their games then.
Reading this discussion I wonder if there'd be any downsides in a split multiplayer community.
I'd have no problem only playing with the DRM-free crowd, in fact I'd prefer to do it so (not that I'm a multiplayer gamer at all).

Interesting quote indeed (here is the source by the way). While it's saying that DRM is likely to fail, it's also wicked at the same time, since he's trying to say that they'd prefer DRM to be well hidden (secret surveillance, hehe) in order not to trigger users to its malicious presence.

Underworld Ascendant project by OtherSide Entertainment now includes Linux release in its base goal!

Over the last 2 weeks a number of folks have been asking about Mac and Linux versions. From our forum poll on platforms, we’ve also learned that a larger percentage of you play on Mac or Linux than we had anticipated. There is also some information suggesting that a non-trivial number of people who have come to check out the Underworld Ascendant Kickstarter page move on as soon as they see that we’re only showing Windows support up front.

So… we have decided to roll Mac and Linux support into the base funding goal. There are tradeoffs when moving around features within a budget, but this seems worthwhile. One tradeoff is that it will likely mean we’ll need to hold off for a month or possibly longer to release the Mac and Linux versions following the initial Windows release (staging it this way helps to minimize budget impact.)

If making this change brings in new backers and funding, then it will all be a wash, as we’ll be that much more likely to go past our first stretch goal. We do suggest that our Mac and Linux backers take a peek at a tier or two above where they are currently pledged...

Not sure if already mentioned, but the shallow space indigogo campaign did not only announces a linux release, it has already a linux demo build ready for download. Maybe already therefore alone worth the support....downloading.

Looks very interesting. Though I'd prefer not an RTS but something action oriented like Freelancer, or may be an RPG hybrid like Star Wolves. Didn't see anything of that sort on Linux.

Thanks for pointing it out anyway, I'll back this.

Banished might come to Linux and Mac OS X in the close future. Citing the home page:
I've finally got OpenGL rendering Banished with identical output to both the DX9 and DX11 renderers. I've still got a little bit of work to support the boring parts of a rendering engine, such as handling window resizes, switches to fullscreen, and handling renderer changes at runtime. But all that's platform specific code. What really matters here is I now have a working GL implementation that should (hopefully) seamlessly work on OSX and Linux.

Yea I know, I own it (I dual boot)... but normally Linux versions require a new negotiation/contract with GOG, but it might not take much for this game though since it's by one guy who self published.

There seems to exist a wishlist entry: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/site/dust_an_elysian_tail_native_linux_version and a topic or two on forums. But no official answer from the guys in blue.

According to what BKGaming responded to my post above, it seems every port is negotiated separately. Maybe showing to GOG that there is demand would help. Voting in the wishlist and asking support.

I already own Dust AET on Humble. I'm not likely to buy it on GOG in near future. Maybe some day for completion sake.
