The only thing i'm familiar with that fits your naming convention is the linker known as ls, which is used to merge elf files into a single elf file that can be used for execution. Yet this would not create the behavior your specify. You'll have to give us more info.

Bad pointer exception. Just realized this is actually being sold on gog, too. This is the main board for the game but it looks pretty dead. Some people seem to think using the config thing would help, but i'm gonna lean towards first seeing if there's any reproduceable patterns to the crashes.

thanks for your help. no set pattern, seems random.sometimes it happens 2 or 3 times in 18 holes sometimes nothing for 20 holes.

I don't know enough about the game. Is there no correlation between opponents or anything? Nothing involving it always happening during animations or something like that? Also, how's your ram usage when playing the game?

Now is the game running in dosbox? i'm akin to believe that something is wrong with your computer in particular since this isn't something frequently said on the forums, so i'm trying to figure out what exactly could be triggering it.

Next thing i'd do is browse to the folders where gog installed it to and start trying compatibility mode. If that fails, and no one responds here, put in a gog support ticket and hope they answer it, this year. For me to get further information, i'd have to have the game and be able to reproduce the crash, myself, or at least find the offset in ida pro or olly debug and see which pointer is bad and figure out where it'd normally be pointing to.

Have you also tried running it in https://dosbox-staging.github.io/v0-77-0/ ? Maybe it might work in that instead of the original Dosbox.

It's a native Windows 95, not DOS, game.

Oh, I was thinking of https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Links_LS_1997, which is a DOS game.
