Basically a user/customer made a meme they didn't like and they punished him over it, even going so far as to threaten him with LEGAL ACTION over a MEME....let that sink in for a bit.

"Dude, you got banned for exactly the reasons I warned you about. I tried, but yeah your orders were refunded from what I can see. Usually takes 3-5 days to post back to whatever the original payment method was. Honestly, if I were you i'd leave it, cuz if you keep pushing you're likely to light a fire under our lawyers ass. There's a difference between free speech and flagrant misinformation"

This.....I have no words.....they simply will not come. I mean c'mon....suing someone over a MEME? So what about you ladies/gentlemen...will you buy their games now, no, or something else? What do you all think of this? (The meme that got him in trouble is shown at 6:57 or so)

Update: They are supposedly now deleting comments on their facebook threads/posts/wall on this. This was found in a comment posted....so take it with a grain of salt.....but if true it's not gonna help them much.

It's sad how they are treating their customers. I mean threatening to sue him just over a meme? that's pretty pathetic.

True. I am guessing they will file a SLAPP suit if they go through with it, which is essentially a type of suit used often by those trying to silence critics and for stupid reasons.

This thread title and the text in the OP is misleading, and so is "The Quartering"'s video about it.

If he gets sued, then it would not be for "making a meme." But rather, it would be for him taking it upon himself to misrepresent the company without their permission, and mislead the public into thinking they were selling products that they actually weren't.

IMO he could & should indeed be successfully sued for that. He deserves it.

I don't think so, but we can agree to disagree. That's part of what some memes do...it's called freedom of expression(fair use) & is allowed under certain circumstances(parody/etc).

He wasn't pretending to be a company official posting under such auspices on official sites or channels of the company, and one could likely tell(with a bit of checking) that it wasn't official & was a meme.
(And thus likely to not be damaging to their company/brand to a legally actionable degree)

That said regardless of who is or isn't right, can we agree that it is a cr*p move to sue a loyal/good customer over one picture? Warning him I could understand, but he made ONE picture and got banned/refunded and threatened with legal action. Really? Or are you just trying to sound "edgy"? (I am truly curious here)

I agree, but only partially. Yes, ban (and possible lawsuig) was issued for misrepresenting, not defamation or something. However, it's not clear if the guy "misled the public" intentionally or not. And if there was actuallly a public to mislead. So, the accusation is more of an excuse, instead of real issue.

Also, we all (or at least those of us who follow the news) know what happened when there were many articles about some kid in MAGA hat harrassing native american dude. And later it was revealed that it was the other way around, not to mention articles lied about a lot of other details.

A meme can technically be ANY "viral" thing or thing made to try to go "viral" online....including comedic things and non comedic, more serious things. There is some interesting info on the history of memes and their precursors online, actually.They get away with it, obviously....as they are rich and have connections. :\
