Take it as a badge of honor. Only the most beloved users ever seem to get targeted. Unless the community's actively telling you otherwise, you're pretty much safe in assuming that you're important enough for NES or whomever to try their measly attempts at making you look bad, which ironically fails since we know by now to ignore rep.

From what i have seen , the -ve rep seems to hang around people whose postings are always arrogant and one sided and tend force their thoughts down on others ... the other part of it seems to be ticking off people by calling others scammers and what not.

I have always said from the start that gog should have had the option to check a persons post history so that hot trail can be easily linked.


I have seen people go from -ve 666 rep to huge positive numbers the moment they started posting sensibly, helped other members in the community etc , the best example is our tinyE here But HIS CHANGE OF PROFILE PICTURE IS TEMPTING ME TO CLICK THE negative button .......

Something tells me you haven't hung around much recently.
A lot of the negative rep or decreasing-rep individuals are actually perfectly decent people who've just posted something that a political zealot disagreed with, prevented a scam from taking place, or simply been a prominent community member who's received a lot of praise. There's a fair amount of people who actually earned their decreasing rep (Tauto, dtgreene, Kleetus, etc.) but there's a lot who've been perfectly fine as well and arguably even neutral parties in everything (JunglePredator, Djaron, even PookaMustard here). Even upstanding pillar-of-the-community members such as mrkgnao have been targeted in the past.

Ignore rep. Judge people by what they post, not some imaginary number next to their avatar.

Again, I believe you're a decent individual. You don't harass and you don't troll (at least, not on purpose), and are quite knowledgeable in certain fields as well as contribute to gaming threads.

The only reason you got lumped with those users is because you DID earn your rep, although not by being abusive or abrasive.

I wouldn't put her in that list however: those are crap people, dtgreene instead is just a too much sensitive person.
Also she seems to have improved a bit lately.

It wasn't supposed to be a list of crap people, just a list of people that earned their rep for a reason. I don't think dtgreene's a crap person. I'd even argue apehater's working towards a place on it, and that guy's been one of the most prominent anti-scammer people we've had.

It would have been true, but no gogger would have liked being mentioned like that.

I said people who "earned" it, i.e. were downrepped by the community rather than put on a script by NES/some upset political zealot and told up-front something along the lines of "we're irritated with what you're doing".
You can't deny the community's responded like that to dtgreene before. If you'd like to claim that the community's felt like that about me, I want to hear about it.
