KasperHviid: So, what's the status today?
I did a quick search and found this gogMix:
LGB Representation (Sadly, no T as yet) Games mentioned:
In context of today, my Scandi-bro, I take your question just entirely positively! :-) You go forth! (but it's ok to find Finns bit weird, also, rest assured)
Status: not that prominent in mainstream high-fantasy RPG, except maybe with BioWare. But surely evolving.
Unless M!Hawke of DA2 is involved, I never systematically roll a male CHAR. I want a gal-gamer immersion. But.... Dorian... Phoarrw! I rolled a male Inki just to romance Dorian, because he is with Cole simply the best new NPC in DA:I.
In DA2, I think M!Hawke to Anders romance has gravity due to Karl Thekla back-ground (also discussed), and I know isabela F!Hawke is a great fan favourite based on fan-art. Only romanced her as M!Hawke, yet also so, Isa is super cool!
As rarer cases: Two Worlds 2 and The Captain, or Fallonon. Yes, you get a typical "jilted lover revenge quest" - but once you break into those personal chests, and read the correspondence, you really just wish Fal was happy.
Edit: and regarding Fal of TW2: he thanks you and rewards you for not carrying out the potential retribution mission. Meaning it is more sweet than cruel, if you choose so, even if Fal gets no moral absolution from me overall, as a potentially vindictive lover.
And DA = Dragon Age.
