Most people don't use the (near pointless) scoring system beyond exceptional posts.....it's mainly the "under bridge dwelling types" who waste time with it

Liberals and communist. both the same thing

I can only come to three reasons why so many Americans have that completely and factually wrong;

1. They dropped out of school very early on.
2. They are brainwashed.
3. They choose to ignore the facts (and creates their own realities)

Those two ideologies have vastly differences when it comes to things like minorities, markets and trade, progress and individual/personal freedom. In fact, they're almost polar opposite in many things.

Liberal ideas came from the Age of Enlightenment (from German "clearing up"). In an odd way, you actually hate yourself because America was founded on liberal ideas from Europe when King of England wanted to dominate the colonies, and early Americans made the constitution (an act of intellectual liberality). Your "for-fathers" or "founding fathers" were considered liberals (though, classic).

I could go on about the other part but I think most people know the differences.

But yes, please be a good citizen now and continue to spread fud. ;)

Liberals in USA and liberals in Europe use to mean different things. In USA Liberal term can be used to mean "leftist" "progresist"

Due to the lack of an importat socialist or socialdemocrat party in US all those sectors use to be sides into the democrat party, the left wing of the party.

Anyway. If the despective term is used against classic liberals or against the progresist liberals, socialdemocrats whatever etc, it is strongly reactionary
