There is a huge level of denial regarding DRM free, Steam's DRM and piracy.

A quick look on TPB shows gog games are a tiny minority and Steams DRM does nothing.

in fact, among the crack supplier scenes, people who lazyly repack gog installers are mocked and shunned and taunted by all the other groups of the scene...
it seems that the "pride" of cracking a drm, even as weak as steamworks/steam will always have more weight in their eyes than something where there is no work to be done like GOG

i could bet that for any given game, the number of sources, repacks/releases of a game using gog as base is smaller than the ones packing the steam build with crack.
what i would be curious about is the "when" such talks began to take place: before this thread was opened, or after the whole shitstorm ended up on a few subreddit threads and social network...

no need to answer, it is a rethorical question. i just strongly suspect that without the shit hitting the fan, tinybuild would still playing deaf ear...

That depends entirely on what tinybuild's position is. If they won't be swayed from the stance shown in the OP then removing their games from the catalogue is the best solution left.

I disagree. If the developer/publisher are supporting the game elsewhere but not here then it shouldn't be on sale here. It's dishonest to sell a game that is out of date and will never be updated. And honestly, if the game was labelled outdated like you suggest, do you really think it would sell enough to even justify its presence?

EDIT: By the way, there is a precedent for this. There have been several games removed because the developer or publisher decided to stop supporting the game here.

If tinybuild still refuses to update their games, gog should draw the appropriate conclusion a.i. give 'em the boot.

You should show them how much money they make off GOG and how many of their games are pirated from the steam copies.

thanks, I have some level of faith that Ice Pick Lodge will continue to update Pathologic 2 if their bills are getting paid, but I've very intentionally avoided looking into Tiny Build games otherwise because of the lack of continued GOG support. not a good feeling. I'd probably give their games a way more fair shot if/when this get sorted out. attitudes do change, I guess, and if it happens here, these threads were definitely needed.

Hi sensible person, unlike most here.

It's kinda like a honor thing for pirates and crackers. Oh you put a GOG installer on Pirate Bay? WTF?! Where is the challenge? The adventure of braking the DRM down?! Begone filthy casual!

But then for such situations we need a clear and visible indicator on the sotre page for future customers
like "this game is discontinued/unsupported by publisher and is sold as is without any update or bugfixing provided"

sure, it would not be very incentive and motivating for the wannabe buyer... but at least customer would have the choice and be informed properly...

I am glad to hear this - and I trust you to find the best solution for both GOG AND your loyal customer base. Please keep in mind that we love GOG and we want to support GOG but things like that really can hurt GOG and destroy the trust in being "safe" whenever you buy a game on GOG. Hopefully it is all just a big misunderstanding but if this actually is the case you should DEMAND tinyBuild to fix ALL their games which you can find here - just for them to show GOG and your customers that they REALLY are meaning what they say and that they REALLY are supporting GOG and DRM-free in oposite to what this chat said.

I am sure about this. Don't forget the crackers can also tell their "customers" that they cracked the latest up to date version of the game which obviously is not always guaranteed when it comes to a GOG game ;)

Sorry, but I could not resist. It's still a pity that it even IS a problem to get completely updated versions because of the the platform you buy it on. Not updating a game on any platform devs/publishers are offering it on should be punisheable by law - it should not even be an option imo. It's sad that several people have left GOG - or stopped buying newer games on GOG completely - because of this. Like I said, such things do hurt GOG massively.

if teh publie is 'booted' theeeen i feel like all teh games current lee actual lee bein' updated (like graveyard keeper) will stahp bein' supported, espesh. as its still bein' worked on by teh devlies
