Breja: Of all the things GOG should focus on and get them working... "getting more movies" is number last.
Not true. I say it's second-to-last, just above the forum.
GOG has movies?! How have I not noticed this? XD

It was a tricky bit of concealment. They hid it by giving it its own tab, which they learned to do after realizing how well it worked for the "community" section.
Hm, gog abandoned the movie section more then a year ago so I don't think its a priority for a Galaxy client movie upgrade. Until they get a serious international movie company online, if they are actually still working on that (which is questionable), the movies section won't be maintained by gog.

I think they should just focus on their game distribution business and try getting as many of unpatched games patched and try to get older games working and distributing them which is their specialty.

Let's face it drm-free movie business won't work as long as you have countless streaming options that enable you to watch what ever you wan't for less then 10€/$. Its not a viable business when you have generic streaming providers like Netflix, Amazon video, Maxdome (DE), etc. that offer boundless movie/series streaming for a very small price and you sell one movies for 5-10€/$.

It might not work as a large-scale profit center, but I'm one of those for whom the convenience of a non-streaming option is helpful. Low-speed connections don't work well for streaming, unless one is watching Star Wars: The Slideshow.

For that, I appreciate gOg's movie offerings - I can download overnight or when I'm on the road, and then watch at leisure later on.

But yeah, a business will tend to stick with those things that bring in decent revenue, and the online streaming competition doesn't make the Movies section an easy sell.

RadonGOG: Looks like you´ve experienced something different then me. In my memory, the procedure always was: If a project didn´t took off, GOG simply changed how it was handled and didn´t drop it entirely. But maybe we´ve got different understandings of what qualifies itself as a project...

zeogold: >Galaxy's been in beta since its inception
>Movies section never gets updated
>Community Wishlist feature still in beta
>Forums haven't been fixed, moderated, or updated in any size, shape, or form
>Reclaim Your Games section gets buried and abandoned
>Contest winners never get contacted

Could just be they were all too niche.
Most of the stuff you mentioned are connected to each other---Galaxy being in beta and the forums will only be fixed together. Whenever that will happen will be a good moment to bring up the final wishlist. Reclaim the game and Movie Streaming would also be stuff that has to be implemented in Galaxy this time around.
Oh, and never heard about that Contest Winner stuff...

There were a few notable examples of that. I seem to recall there was a contest for Prison Architect (?), where the deadline passed, and passed, and passed, with numerous people bumping the contest thread, and it took quite a while for winners to be announced, let alone given their prizes.

Maybe they should put these things in the hands of a few specific members who are really good at keeping track of their own contests / giveaways, and who operate with complete integrity.

Surprisingly enough it doesn´t look like the streaming services do feel the same: http://www.businessinsider.com.au/netflix-viewing-is-a-third-movies-no-matter-what-2016-12?r=US&IR=T

Could be a point where GOG could win some land...
