I hope that you're right with the fad part, i don't have sides on these discussions but dear lord it's getting to the point that is annoying that everything is a controversy or devs feel the need to pander their game to a certain group on the internet to get more visibility.

What if Geralt was actually a GOOD character? :O

...but ah screw it, if the character still has to have gray hair then I nominate that we play as The Genetic Jackhammer, Vince McMahon!

Personally, I find it annoying how any suggestion that a game should include playable characters who aren't cishet white men turns into a debate with lots of hostility. (See, for example, what happened when the recent Baldur's Gate expansion came out.)
