The OP is blowing things out of proportion.


The population of trans people is less than 0.5% in America. There have been no recorded crimes of child molestation done by trans people till now.

Catholic priests on the other hand....

Even if we consider the unreported transgender, the figure is too high that it make no sense.
41% of 956700 is 399247. considering transgender suicide age below 10 and above 50 numbers is very little, as proven in your survey (too young to know suicide and so old that they accept their lifestyle). the overwhelming majority of suicide must happen in 10 to 50 years old. divided 399247 over 40 years and you get nearly 10k transgender suicide per year.

It may be credible that the unreported number is twice or thrice. 10 time unreported is stretching it, but 400 - 500 time of transgender case go unreported is really incredulous.
With that many times reported vs unreported cases it is illogical, especially when the media is hunting for minority oppression.

I don't think that exactly was the OP's argument. It was more along the lines of "Paedophiles will now pretend to be transgender to gain access to bathrooms of the opposite sex in order to molest children". Equally ridiculous, but still, different.

Let's approach this another way...the overall annual suicide rate is 12.93 per 100,000. If we multiply that out with the figure provided by Gnostic 956,700 (based on 0.3% of the population being trans) we get 125 deaths per year. But wait, the claim is 41% vs 4.7% of the normal population are suicidal [let's ignore the exaggeration this is 10 times higher as it isn't even 9 times]. Now we get 1,089 trans suicides annually or under 2% of these death reported? For a group that has been doing everything possible to expose the issue?

This appears to be another grossly exaggerated number popularized throughout the media that no one seems to even do the most basic fact-checking on...

Edit: I see I used 4.7% instead of 4.6%. Starting from scratch with an estimated figure of 322,762,018 people alive at he start of 2016 and using 0.3% for the trans population you get 968,286. If they are normal using the 12.93 per 100,000 figure we should expect 125 deaths per year. Then applying the 41% suicidal vs. 4.6% of the regular population, you get 1,116 deaths per year. If you believe that many suicides per year is really occurring, you'd have to believe that less than 1 in 50 or just 1.8% of these deaths are being noted by the activists.

The real irony here is that 20 trans suicides in a year...which gets reported as being this crazy high number, would make the trans population less likely to commit suicide than the cis population. Don't you love the media? Where is the fact checking?

Of course, the (faulty) notion of trans-friendly bathroom laws leading to molesters using it justify their actions and causing an uptick in molestation incidents is a pretty big example of conclusion-jumping on its own.
