No, they will be held back because people will frown, at the very least, or raise concern, if such a law is not in effect.

If this law IS in effect, THEN there's absolutely nothing stopping the criminal from "self-identifying" as a girl and going in. No one will bat an eye.

I'm not saying that a law wouldn't make it easier. But seriously, who even pays attention? Some people may notice and either care or not care, but such assaults will happen no matter what. What's to prevent anyone from dressing up as a woman or man, respectively, and enter a bathroom that is not specifically intended for them, to commit a crime? No one even needs a damn bathroom to commit a crime.

I appreciate your concerns for children, because - while I personally do not like them much - they should be protected until they are capable of protecting themselves. But bathroom laws, and I find it somewhat ridiculous that that's even a thing, should probably not be the focus.

Maybe it's because I'm too tired but I don't get it.

Talking about women's bathrooms only:
If there is no law and people use the bathroom of their choice, as it is now, the genetically male persons can easily go into the women's bathroom, and as long as they look "female enough", nobody will bat an eye.
People will react though if that person starts touching somebody's child.

If there is a law requiring people to only use the bathroom that matches their genetic make-up then a few male looking people (who abide the laws) will have to use the women's bathroom because they have two X chromosomes. That will weird people out. People don't get used to these things that easily. So there will be a lot of uncomfortable staring and probably worse stuff. They might not get thrown out but they will be under close scrutiny. People are like that.
Still, male persons (I'm only talking about the genetic make up here) who look "female enough" and don't want to abide the laws will get into women's bathrooms unless there is some kind of intrusive check in place.
If somebody starts touching somebody else's child, people will still react to that.

No, they shouldn't. But then why is everyone so obsessed about them, up to & including Obama blackmailing the states that refuse such a law, by threatening to cut their funding for public schools? I'm only worried about this law because everyone's making such a big deal out of it.

And it's certainly not the trans crowd who's making all this ruckus. In fact, some gay people - different crowd, I know, but still relevant - are opposed & have the same concerns I do.

There shouldn't be a law, that's my point! Just plain common sense, even now that it is at a critical all time low, has seen people through toiletry issues ever since the first people needed to take a dump.

Yet there is an extremely mainstream push for these laws, why?

And as a side note, just like I pointed out before, every time I insult paedophiles, my reputation goes down due to the post being low rated. They're here too, and they want this law.

If I was moderating these forums, I'd be sending names & addresses to their local police stations, just for data purposes. Maybe that would help the police next time there's an assault on a child near where these people downvoting me live.
