Granted, magic barriers erect between every biome so that no animal can ever migrate again. Most birds freeze in the winter and biology eventually becomes so different in each region that they become completely alien to each other and the last surviving humans (in central Africa, as apart of your wish) who pass through these barriers with protected vehicles are unable to farm or hunt. The humans get so over-populated that they resort to cannibalism because all the plants and animals are going extinct from over-consumption.
