This is 2 years old, but I just found it today:

http://etodd.io/2015/06/25/poor-mans-postmortem-lemma/

It is an interesting and very honest article. recommended to anyone who are interested in launching a new indie game.
Lemma is such a good game, I really loved the "zen-parkour" gameplay.
The funny thing is that 7k pirates opted in to anonymously upload analytics data.

Why? Do they at least want to support the dev with usage data if they cannot come up with money?

And how did the dev distinguish between pirates and not pirates with the anonymous data?
They might have played the demo first, opted-in there and then installed the pirated version. Or the pirated version had a modified installer, or one had to opt-out and they didn't care.

The revenue vs. costs part is really deperessing.

He made his own analytics, so not sure. Probably some sort of digital stamping of license number or something similar. So if two or more copies have the same digital stamp, they are copies of each other (i.e. pirated from one).

That's true. His hourly effective wage will be very, very small. He basically did it almost for free.

Steam got $10,000 from it and 3000 gamers got some fun and it is open source now. But mostly this is depressing.

Fairfox: Minecraftian Mirror's Edge? Joke's on me; I don't kno anythang about any of these gamies.

Looks good-good, tho. Or did, obvs.
You should try the demo, at least. Parkour mechanics are good and the game ain't too short (6-8 hours to beat it).
