Hello there.
While taking a glimpse at the forum for the game Tank Warfare - which I'm considering buying - I came across the following exchange (you may find it here: https://www.gog.com/forum/tank_warfare_tunisia_1943/it_doesnt_launch)
User Squid830: ..."the only issue now is that even though I downloaded the "offline" installers via the website, for some reason launching the game now starts Galaxy if it's installed (and not already started), which is kind of annoying. Hopefully this doesn't mean Galaxy actually has to be installed for the game to launch (I doubt this would be the case, since then this game's download would be shitting all over GOG's stance against installing crap you didn't ask for just to play something you did ask for)..."
User thebes: "I've had it do that to my games too. I don\t know what's going on. A few of my fav games I just want on my computer only."
___
So, what is going on here? Anyone has any idea? Does that mean that some games actually require Galaxy? Is there any way you can prevent a game from launching Galaxy for no reason - that is, other than not having Galaxy installed?
I know GOG has been reinterpreting their instance on DRM-Free, but if that would be a whole new level of "sort of free".
P.S.: I still did not buy the game, so I can't verify. Also, I usually launch games from Galaxy, which is a habit I might have to abandon if that's what's going on and if that's what this is about.
