hey there,

I have purchased NWN2, but when I click download i get this window saying "launching" but nothing happens for hours. Same story if i try to download GOG galaxy. Which is weird, because Steam and Steam games work perfectly. What could be the issue?

Thanks!

You can always download the offline installers from your Account/Library using the browser. Since they changed Galaxy to 2.0, unfortunately it's gotten very wonky.

it seems that now that I got the installation done, i cannot launch the game because a window says "the d3dx9_30.dll is missing".

Do you have any idea of what I could do?

Try re-installing the DirectX 9 runtime libraries:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/confirmation.aspx?id=8109

For various reasons, the older DirectX 9 libraries aren't always properly installed/configured on some systems.

It’s a common issue with galaxy installed games that the extra bits like directx are not installed. Plenty of threads on it, and I put in a help desk ticket to which the information had been passed on.

Thanks, both of you were really helpful!
New problem is: is it common that, now that i have installed DirectX, the game does not even launch? Like nothing happens at all?

Close galaxy and make sure it’s not running. Go into the directory where the game is installed. I would hope it’s something not program files, like c:/gog games/nwn
Run the exe in there. See what that does.
