Geralt_of_Rivia: Would you be interested in avatars or wallpapers from games or movies you don't like? Most people certainly wouldn't.
Avatars and wallpapers no but music and artbooks maybe. For me, looking at an artbook or listening to game music is fairly independent of playing a game. It can also be advertising if I am interested in a game but not sure if I really want to get it (or how much I would be willing to pay for it).

Independent of goodie packs, I think it would be helpful to have a different way of looking for bonus materials than just per game, like a different page with a text listing of results with various selectable categories: artbooks, music, avatars, wallpapers, programs (alternate versions, minigames, etc.).

For that matter, having a basic text listing of the main downloads would be nice too (and hopefully would workaround the bug with some dlc not visible at times if you increase the font size in your browser, although it would be nice if that bug was fixed also).

Maybe it is just my impression but it seems like the number of giveaways per sale has been increasing lately. I appreciate the free stuff, but it also feels a bit like a desperate plea to look at the sale again even though I already did. I think one giveaway per major sale is enough. Don't fall into the trap of trying to "maximize engagement" every day of the year. Things like staff recommendations or themed lists are helpful to be able to find things I might want in the sale, but it is nice if everything for a sale is there from day one.

I guess many of us on the forums have and play a bunch of games for various reasons, but for the average person who just wants to play an occasional game GOG sends way too much promo email (it isn't cear how much volume each particular subscription option involves). I think for most people 4 emails per year is the most they would want to see and if those are major sales with a giveaway that might entice more people to look at the sale. Better ways to find the few really high quality games would also be helpful for everyone.

I actually love getting artbooks for games I don't have a interest in buying as I love looking over the art development.

I liked both goodie packs. Thank you very much! I would love to see more in the future.

IronArcturus: Has anyone tried Red Faction: Armageddon?
Yes. I have. The destructible buildings, stealth-ish (maybe better called ambush) mechanics, and good gunplay make the game pretty good. It also has characters with personality.

It's good enough for me to play for hours and be memorable, but it eventually felt repetitive enough that I was ready for something else before I finished it.

Each of the red faction games get better the further along in the series you go. So if you want to play an earlier game, try those first because Armageddon is the best of them.

On that note, I recommend Guerrilla Re-Marstered (this newer version is technically "later" than Armageddon)...destructible sandbox fun.
Quite disappointed that I managed to get all 3 goodie packs which I'm not interested in but missed the free game. Serves me right for going away for the weekend when the government says we have to stay at home!

Glad other people are enjoying the goodies though, even if I'm only interested in having them with a game I own.

Yes and yes!

But I wish GOG wouldn't remove the profile backgrounds these giveaways provided. After a couple of days they were systematically removed. You should restore them, because they're perfect for the spring atmosphere, and especially because it's been years since you've updated the section with backgrounds from past sales.
Darn, I missed all of the packs and also the Mable giveaway :-( Alas, crazy times.
Pathfinder: Kingmaker Imperial Edition - is it worth $32 for someone with a backlog?
I assume it might be cheaper still when the sequel comes out but have heard good things.
Thank you in advance for any feedback.

rjbuffchix: I think in another topic I posed the idea of GOG collecting various online resources, like mods, video walkthroughs, text walkthrough, etc, obviously this would require the respective creators' permission but would be cool to have as additional DRM-free extras right alongside with the games.
I believe that, in part, that was the aim of GOG wiki. If we could just provide links to the resources it would be much simpler since you do not need permission. And it would also grow much faster because everyone could submit something.

Thanks for the info!

Also, do you think its expansion pack "Path to War" is worth it?

It's not worth playing. Enjoy the game until you're tired of it, then play something else. You'd be better off playing earlier red faction games.

Yeah both Red Faction 1 and Red Faction: Guerilla were a lot of fun!
