Whoever it ends up being, they have a hell of a tough time measuring up again't Angelina Jolie's screen presence. I wouldn't bet on it. It's going to have to be literally perfect casting.

You would have to pick from the highest paid actresses around I think, who can hold a whole series on their back. Kate Bekinsale is a bit too old now for Tomb Raider I think, perhaps I might pick someone like Emily Blunt or Anne Hathaway. Both of their boobs arn't big enough though. :P

Possibly a completely unknown actress. I don't agree with Daisy Ridley, as much as I think she's cute.

Penelope Cruz, nope.

Natalie Portman, nope.

Keira Knightley, far maybe.

Gal Gadot is a maybe.

Jessica Chastain, definitely maybe could pull it off, wrong hair color, I don't think she'd take the job.

Kickass, Chloe Grace Moretz could possibly do something good with it. But she is not curvy enough.

Verdict: Cast Angelina Jolie again.

Lucy Lawless would have been a fantastic choice back when they made the first Tomb Raider movie, but I'm not sure fans want a 50 year old Lara Croft. Not that she doesn't still look fantastic, just no longer the right demographic for this role.

As for who could play the character now? Well there is no shortage of actresses who have the right, let's say "body type". There's bigger names like Christina Hendricks and Kate Upton but going into SyFy B-Buget movies you have the likes of Jennifer Wenger and a whole lot more, but they wouldn't necessarily be right for the part. If it's got to be someone who's British there's Gemma Arterton, Hayley Atwell (though her work with Marvel may have typecast her out of such a role), possibly Michelle Ryan and while not actually British Katherine Heigl could pull it off. A physically adept actress who is also properly proportioned for the role is a bit harder to come by, there Adrianne Palicki and Gina Carano but they are very much American. I'd almost say that Kate Beckinsale could pull it off but she's not much younger than Lucy Lawless so you have the age issue again. Not that there is anything wrong with how Kate Beckinsale looks either!

Rooney Mara would be a cool choice, boobs also not big enough. I might let that slide for her.

I agree miss Ridley seems a bad choice, but it's not like Angelina Jolie being pretty much the perfect choice and sexy as all hell saved the previous movies from being terrible. And she had help from Daniel Craig, Jon Voight and Gerard Butler, so hardly a shortage of good actors.

I really don't know who I'd cast. A few years back I'd say Jolene Blalock maybe, but at 41 she's probably to old for that role. And the studio is definately looking for someone young. Katheryn Winnick from Vikings proved there that she can kick vast amounts of ass, and she's attractive, and although she's 38 I'd say she looks younger than that. Still, if the studio wants someone in their early 20s, I'm fresh out of ideas.
