I am curious why there aren't any Microsoft games on GOG. I would love to be able to purchase 'Age of Empires' and 'Halo'. It seems their sister company, CD Project Red has a good relationship with them. 'Witcher 2' was ported to 360, plus both 'Witcher 3' and 'CyberPunk 2077' have been demoed on Microsoft's e3 conference. This conversation musst been brought up in meetings.

What do you folks think?
You're curious why Microsoft, one of the kings of DRM…

I guess they love DRM too much? If so, I assume all their games use Denuvo and maybe forced log-in on Steam. Nothing can be done about that on GOG's end.

Micwosofts (spelling intended) game rights have been a mess for a long time. Thats why.

Edit: I happen to know somebody that was an entertainment lawyer for them back when things were good and they cant really speak on anything due to various NDAs - which amounts to "a total cluterfuck".

Microsoft, who 'let's make everyone upgrade to Vista to play Halo 2', pushed the 'Games for Windows Live', and refused to do anything outside their Xbox console for the better part of a decade.... Doesn't bring their games to GoG?

Color me surprised.

So even if MS wasn't holding up a GOG release Freelancer it's likely too legally messy altogether?
Oh yeah what happend to Games For Windows Live.... yeah.. thats m$ for you.

The only thing people should pay for is Windows, and boycott the rest of their shit, as they ain't doing gamers any favours.

God, I forgot Games for Windows Live was even a thing...

Only had two games for it, 'Fallout 3' and 'Batman:Arkham City'. Could never get the dlc working properly...

That's not the case. Only Gears 5 will require additional login as far as I know. No Denuvo either (unless it's not stated on game pages).

But they do have Denuvo right, since they love DRM like everyone is saying?

edit: Oh sorry I didn't see you mention Denuvo in your first post. :P

As far as I know - no, they don't.

But they must have some form of DRM other than just Steam's DRM right so they can't be easily cracked, and they love DRM? Otherwise why wouldn't they release their games here?

(not explicitly directed at you, anyone who knows can chime in, I'm just trying to figure this out)

Probably GOG is to niche for a multibillion company like Microsoft to bother with.
I watched a Giant Bomb E3 interview with the head of Xbox and they talked about Microsoft putting more games on Steam. At some point the interviewer asked about other PC platforms and classic games and the Microsoft guy basically said "we don't have the time to look into all that," basically saying new games on Steam would be it.
